Sunriver

For Spring break we rented a house at the Sunriver resort in Oregon with J's sister, Sue and her family.  It was Sue, her son Justin, her son Cameron, Cameron's friend Josh, Lauren, Sue's boyfriend Jon, his son Andrew, Andrew's friend JD, J, C and myself.
The unabomber Lauren (asleep) and C on the 7 1/2 hour drive there Sunday.  He actually threw up right after I took this picture.  That's the 2nd time he's got car sick, but didn't have any other problems the rest of the trip. C didn't sleep at all, but he did get to watch a few movies and read some books.  We only stopped twice- once for lunch and a potty break and once just to get gas.  C made it 7 1/2 hours with only 1 potty break and no accidents!

A tree farm we passed on the way.  I think it's kinda neat you can see all the way down the row.
Windmills lining a hill side.  Lots of wind power
We experienced all 4 seasons just on the drive over... sun, wind, rain, hail and snow
Our Sunriver house for the week, 5 Dutchman
J made pancakes and eggs for breakfast every morning!
Cameron and C.  Monday morning all the guys went up to Mt. Bachelor for a day of skiing.
While the girls (and C) hit the town for some shopping.
Sue and Lauren, relaxing in a cafe with a mocha and fresh baked donuts
 C enjoying his hot cocoa
J and I both commented on how incredible C was on this trip.  He was so patient and content shopping with us girls... so before we left I let him pick out a toy and he chose this wooden flute.
J at the BBQ.  I'm amazed... my husband (who hates to cook) made breakfast every morning and BBQ dinner a couple of the nights.  I guess I just need to take him on vacation to get him to cook!
C loved Cameron's snowboard helmet.  He wore it around the house the entire week.

Polka Dot Pottery

I had my dental cleaning this morning and then stopped by Aunt Staci's office to say hello.  The best American Family insurance agent E V E R !!!

Then I was off to meet Lauren and C for some more fun...
we decided to go to Polka Dot Pottery, where you choose a pottery piece and they supply all the paints and fire your finished project for you.  I thought for sure C would love this since he enjoys painting at home.  Of course I was wrong.  He did not want to sit in the chair and paint.
Lauren found a cute martini cup she was going to paint, but since C was not excited to be there we decided we'd come back another time for that.
C finally picked out a coffee mug with a heart that he wanted to paint.  He painted the front of the mug black with a red heart.  Lauren wrote Grandma & Grandpa on the backside with blue paint and C added a few strokes of misc. color on the backside.    And then he declared he was done.  So, we came home for lunch and nap.
What does Lauren do when she gets board?  Pester J!  J used to wrestle in school, so Lauren decided she wanted to wrestle her Uncle J.
Lauren wasn't much of a match though...  but it was sure funny watching these two wrestle.  Better luck next time Lauren.  =)

Mobius Kids Museum 2

What a busy day... I got up early for a dentist appointment and picked up a few more books for C.  He's quiet the little book worm.  In fact he insists on sleeping with a book next to him in bed and it's quiet common for him to wake up in the morning and lay in bed reading his book to himself.  And every morning he has to take at least 2 books downstairs with him.  Currently his favorite books are Curious George, Toy Story, Nemo, Car's, Clifford and Chuck the Dump Truck.
After I picked up half a dozen new books... it was off to the Toyota dealership to get a tune up done on my 4-runner.  Lauren and C met me there and we went to Mobius Kids Museum to have fun while my car got all new fluids and filters.  First stop... the water display with boats.

Dr. Charette here... lets take a look at those X-rays
team work moving the conveyor belt
whipping up a pretend meal for Lauren in the hula hut
Digging in the sand box.  Last time they had bits of rubber to play with in the sand box.  This time its multi colored rice to play with.
"All Aboard" C says.  Choo Choo
Air is blowing through this cone and the ball floats on top
Practicing his building skills... maybe someday he'll get to build a tree house in the backyard!
After a fun day of playing at the Museum it was time to stop off for some lunch at McDonalds, get a new little toy and head home to read his new books for nap time.
my favorite time of day... snuggle time with my little man

Life with Lauren

I wouldn't trade my boys for anything, but I have to say it's pretty nice having another girl around! Shopping, staying up till 2am chatting and drinking wine together, laughing while we dye our hair together...

being goofy while we wait for our hair dye and face mask...
Yep, it's fun having Lauren around to do girly stuff with.  I love my boys, but they aren't big on girly stuff.

more random March

We're not waiting for Spring anymore!  We're all so anxious to get outside and have some fun... even if it's only 50 degree's outside... we don't care anymore.  We bundled up, got our bikes out and went for a ride.

Lauren went back home for a 4 day weekend.  J, C and I decorated a welcome home sign to greet her.
and J (her wonderful Uncle) TP'ed her bedroom.  =)
C has become a movie critic.  He was obsessed with Finding Nemo before Christmas.  Then Aunt Staci & Uncle Tony got him the Car's movie and he was obsessed with everything Car's.  He still has to sleep with his stuffed Nemo and Nemo blanket, but his newest obsession is Toy Story.  We recently got all 3 movies on DVD (I'm slowly upgrading all our old VHS movies to DVD).  J surprised him with a Buzz action figure, which doesn't leave his side.  We had to make Buzz a little house to live in...
well, it was suppose to be a house for Buzz... but apparently C thinks it's HIS house.  If the house is not on C's head then it's upside down and C's sitting inside the house with a collection of action figures.
Oh how I long for the warmth of summer and the green to return to our yards!!

Random March

making dad some of his favorite No Bake Chocolate cookies to surprise him.  J was in Idaho for a week and we normally surprise him with a treat when he gets home from a work trip.  J's friend, Lee was in town and spent a few days with us.  Unfortunately J only got to see him 1 day before he had to leave though.  And C came down with RSV.  This was his first time getting RSV.  He had a nasty cough and fever between 99-102  for a week.

Uncle Tony had surgery.
playing in C's Star Wars tent.  At one point all 3 of us were crammed in the tent.
Grrrrr
hide-n-seek
All the kiddo's playing in the basement...
