Halloween

Kaiden and I joined Connor at his school for their Halloween parade.  Connor was the black panther (no masks allowed at school) and Kaiden wore one of Connor's old dragon costumes (his choice.  I offered to buy him a PJ Masks, Paw Patrol, etc costume, but he insisted he wanted to be this green/yellow dragon from our dress up box). Afterwards we joined his class for treats.  Connor ate tons of snap peas (I love this kids love of veggies!!) and Kaiden chowed down on pretzels.

That evening after dinner our family dressed up as the Incredibles!  Connor's friend, TeJon came over to trick or treat with us too.  He was the inflatable dinosaur, which we discovered is not a great costume for trick or treating since you can't go up stairs.  Connor is such a sweet friend he would go up the stairs and ask for an extra piece of candy for his friend and TeJon would stay at the bottom of the stairs.  We had a blast and walked several blocks.  We got lucky and the weather was perfect!  It wasn't even cold outside.  One of our neighbors by our mailboxes had turned their garage into a haunted house.  Kaiden took off to go through the haunted garage without any fear.  I had to run to catch up to him.  The lady at the entry gives a signal when kids enter and they don't jump out or try to scare the kids, which was awesome.  The decorations were scary enough.  Kaiden thought it was cool though.  Connor was too scared to go threw.  Then we came back home and handed out candy.  The boys played with the scare crow (pulled the hands up, talked in the walkie talkies).  Jason retired to the couch to watch TV.  I manned the door with the kids.  Then TeJon got board of handing out candy and we walked him home.  On the way back from his house the boys decided to do some more trick or treating.  Then Connor decided he wanted to go threw the haunted garage too... since his little brother had done it.  So the 3 of us went threw with Kaiden leading the way, me next and Connor grabbing onto my arm and hiding behind me.  Again Kaiden thought it was cool and Connor said he was happy he went threw it but would NOT do it again.  He screamed a few times.  My little chicken.  Then we came home to hand out more candy, until we got tired and turned the lights out. Kids were spooked by our huge spider that we put next to the porch stairs.  What a fun night!

October

Our finished scare crow ready for Halloween.  Piper's favorite spot in the house.. right in front of the fire place.  Piper and I started walking on the treadmill since it's chilly outside and Kaiden doesn't want to go for a walk with us outside.  Kaiden playing with his play doh.

Pumpkins

This year Connor decided to carve a scorpion on his pumpkin.  Kaiden wanted to wing it and just carve a "scary monster face" into his pumpkin.  Then he decorated the other side of his pumpkin with our plastic push on face pieces.  I decided to carve Jack from Nightmare before Christmas.  Jason watched football again this year while we carved.  Then he let Kaiden decorate his pumpkin with push on face pieces.  Connor is such a sweet big brother.  He showed his little brother how to carve and Kaiden was so excited to finally get the chance to carve his own pumpkin "all by himself."  Jason put our scare crow together while we finished.

My sweet little sleeping boy.  When Kaiden wants to be really strong he says he has to use his "baby strength" which he got from Connor saying he has baby muscles.  Kaiden thinks this gives him extra strength.  Sometimes when I tell him something instead of saying Okey Dokey, which he's heard us say before he says "Dokey Dokey."  Kaiden is such a funny kid.  He keeps us laughing.  Connor is such a sweet and kind boy.  He melts my heart.  He has such amazing patience for his little extremely loud, active brother.  Connor has a new girlfriend this year- Allison B.  (Ali)  She had a crush on Connor last year, but this year the feeling is mutual.  They ride the bus together and trade mini hatchimals.  Connor is still into Lego's, drawing Pokemon that he creates, and playing games on the ipad.  He occasionally plays the Wii, but he's not a big gamer.  He's so creative and would rather draw or create his own Lego creation instead.  Luckily he still thinks his "fangs" are awesome... which is great since the dentist does not want him to get braces for another few years.  Kaiden still likes Paw Patrol, but now PJ Masks is his favorite cartoon.  He also likes a puppy show too.  And of course Daniel Tiger.  Kaiden is so loud.  I must tell him a dozen times a day to use his inside voice and be quieter.  It's not that he yells or screams.  He just gets so excited that he talks too loud.  It doesn't help that his little voice is still high pitch too.  He's still a bundle of energy.  But he does like to sit at the table and play with play doh, clay, paint.  He loves crafts.  He says he wants to be a Nurse Fire Fighter when he grows up.  He likes to check out any cuts, scrapes, blood.  Piper is starting to settle down too.  I still need to remind her not to jump when I answer the door and occasionally when she gets excited.  But she's starting to stay down more.  She still likes to chew, but now she chews on her toys.  She's not chewing on us as much now.  And even when she does it doesn't hurt since her baby teeth are gone.  The adult teeth are much better!  The only time she really barks is when she's really excited and trying to get us to play with her.  Other than the occasional bark, jump or chewing on us she's really settling down and becoming a good dog.  She's not suppose to shed, but she's loosing her baby coat so currently we find little while hair everywhere.  She's not allowed on the furniture/beds, etc. but we find it on the dark wood floor.  She's great in the car, loves to travel.  She just sits down and chills.  You can't even tell she's in the car!  She loves the boat and motor home too.  She loves to camp, swim, hike... we're still working on running.  She walks on a leash great, but the whole running thing confuses her and she either poops (on the treadmill) or tries to cross in front of me and trip me (outside).  She's great at fetching a ball and Frisbee.
