tooth fairy

Connor has had his lower right lateral incisor and lower right canine cuspid fused together since they originally grew in. The dentist has been keeping an eye on these teeth because they are set to fall out at different times and since they are fused together we knew that we would probably have to pull the teeth out when the time came.  The adult incisor is finally starting to grow which means we needed to remove the teeth and make room.  Today Connor had a dentist apt for his cleaning and x-rays and we decided today was the day to remove them.  Connor was really nervous about having his teeth pulled, but it was fast and in no time at all he was smiling again and said "that was easy.  It didn't hurt at all."  The tooth fairy brought him some extra money for these teeth since it's not very often you get fused teeth.  Everyone in the dental office was excited to check out his tooth too.  We even left a note so the tooth fairy would let us keep the tooth.  Connor used his money to buy a new lego set.

Johanna and Greg came over for a BBQ.  Johanna brought her paints.  Johanna, Connor and I all had fun painting, Kaiden colored a picture, and Greg and Jason visited over beers. Top picture is Johanna's painting of tree's and goofy birds (she liked my goofy birds and wanted to add some to her picture).  Middle is my tree's.  Connor painted a dragon, whale, octopus and black widow spider.  I'm so impressed with Connor's painting!  Nice job buddy!!  Bottom is Kaiden's drawing.

Connor's 8th birthday party

Connor wanted a dinosaur theme for his party this year.  We started the party off with a treasure hunt.. the kids had to read clues and figure out where to search for the next one...  they loved it!!

At the end of the treasure hunt there was a basket of filled water guns for a water fight.

Up next was a dinosaur hunt.  I hid 72 dinosaurs which the kids had to find.

Connor decided he wanted an ice cream cake this year.  He doesn't like cake or frosting anymore.  So, we went to Dairy Queen and ordered a blizzard cake with Oreo cookie inside and a layer of fudge.  They didn't have a dinosaur decoration, so he chose the minion instead.  The cake was sooo good!!
Kaiden put himself in his chair and sat there with his hands folded waiting for his piece of ice cream cake.  Everyone loved the cake, adults included.

Happy Birthday to my favorite 8 year old!  I love you buddy!!

Each kids got a treat bag filled with 6 or more dinosaurs and a double barrel squirt gun.  We had an absolute blast!!  Everything went perfect and we all had fun.  The weather was great... warm, but not too hot.  His guests included: his buddy Josh and sister Autumn, Waylon, Ilona, cousin Ryan, Max, Maddux, and brother Kaiden.  His friends Collin and Natalie were on a 3 week vacation and tried to get back in time for the party, but arrived home just after the party ended.  Jon and Vicki came to the party too.  About 30 minutes after they arrived though we noticed Jon's face was drooping on one side and after talking to him he said his arm felt numb on that side as well.  I immediately insisted they go to the ER NOW.  Jon tried to down play his symptoms and protest me, but I knew he was having a stroke and made them go.  Jason and Tony helped Jon get into the car and Vicki and Wei Wei took him to the ER, where he had a CT and MRI.  He did have a stroke, but luckily he got to the ER in time to get loaded with an anticoagulant to stop the clots from forming (they found he had several clots forming in his brain).  I'm happy to say there is no permanent damage and he's back home now.  I'm sorry they missed the party, but glad they came because I don't think he would have gone to the ER had I not insisted.
