Jason is in Atlanta for the week... so me and the boys had a dance party in our living room tonight. I love these goofy boys! Piper even joined in on the craziness.

Science Projects
Connor and I used to love doing science experiments together. Kaiden is finally old enough to appreciate them too. This morning we did some experiments with baking soda and citric acid. Then baking soda and vinegar. Then milk, food coloring and dish soap. The boys loved it.

Jury Duty
I was selected for jury duty and served on a jury Monday - Thursday. I really didn't want to be on a jury, but I'm glad I was chosen. This was a great opportunity to see how our justice system works. I also realized I could never be a lawyer. Lots of patients and willing to reword a question 20 times before its approved. I spent more time sitting and waiting this week than I think I have in months. A year ago we got rid of our daycare for Kaiden and we hired Hannah, an EWU college student to babysit for us. Being a college student she's not available until after lunch, so that meant Kaiden would have to go to jury duty with me. Jason stayed home the first day. During our orientation to jury duty they told us about an on-site daycare available for jurors. Perfect solution! I dropped Kaiden off the following 3 days for my jury duty. Great daycare! Wonderful, caring ladies. TONS of toy stations. Very secure- metal detector with security to enter building, locked daycare center, etc. Every day Kaiden and I would walk to a restaurant and enjoy our lunch together. Jason left work early to get him Tuesday and Wednesday. Kaiden loved it. In fact he was mad that Jason picked him up early.. he wanted to stay and play longer. Most of the time it was just Kaiden and the 2 daycare ladies, which he loved all the attention. A few kids his age did play there for a short amount of time. After my juror service was over Kaiden and I stopped at a new store we discovered this week. I wanted to thank my family for helping me during this process. Kaiden picked out a chocolate mint cupcake for himself, a fudge brownie for Connor and Jason's favorite a huge chocolate no-bake cookie. The daycare ladies raved over how polite and well-mannered Kaiden is. I hear that a lot about both my boys. They are such caring, loving, sharing, giving, polite, kind hearted kids. They make me very proud to be their mom. I also get lots of comments about how incredible their vocabulary is. The daycare ladies were sad to see Kaiden go. They let him pick out a new play doh to take with him (one of the activities Kaiden loves to do). He chose brown.

friends
My coworker, Olivia's baby shower
After the baby shower I raced home for our dinner party with Paul, Stephani, Brian, Jeni and Mochi. Paul and Stephani just adopted Mochi. She's a few months younger than Piper. Piper was so excited to have a playmate, but Mochi was a little nervous at first. Piper did great and gave her space and was really gentle and slow with her. Once Mochi was more comfortable the two of them raced around the house and yard playing together. The boys loved Mochi. We had a great time visiting. Brian and Jeni live in California, but they are building a house in the valley and moving up soon. We look forward to having more dinner parties to visit with them. That's assuming we don't move away. We are currently searching for somewhere warm to live. Jason and I are sick of snow and freezing temperatures for 6 months of the year. Problem is we really don't want 100+ degrees or lots of rain either. And we're not fond of moving some place that experiences hurricanes or tornado's... or has alligators roaming free.
This was Jason the following morning after our dinner party. I think he may have drank a few too many beers. He crashed out on the couch for several hours and the boys buried his head in pillows. Paul brews his own beer and I think Jason likes it too much...
