baby Piper
Piper
About a year ago we started talking about getting a dog. We narrowed it down to 4 breed: a German Short hair, brittany, golden lab or golden doodle. We took a vote and the boys voted for the golden doodle. We visited some golden doodles in spokane and decided against that breed. They look adorable as puppies with the Teddy bear look, but we weren't fond of the curly hair and you either need to cut their hair every 4-6 weeks, unless you want that shaggy long hair look. Both the boys and I voted for the Brittany next. Jason really wanted the German Short hair, but he also liked the brittany. His older brother, Mark has owned 2 brittany's and we love the breed. After lots of searching I located some brittany breeders by Seattle and Rainier. I work with a girl named Amy who used to breed brittany's and her mother still breeds them by Rainier. Her litter was already claimed, but she hooked me up with a friend in Chehalis that had just breed her brittany. I contacted her and put our name first in line for her litter due to go home July 4th. Perfect timing since we travel to Kelso to see Jason's family every July 4th and it's only an hour from Chehalis. We wanted a female orange/white brittany. Her litter had 6 girls, 1 boy. 3 orange/white females, 3 liver/white. We chose the orange/white female she had called Nala (fitting since our yorkie was named Nala). Also fitting since Connor said her tail looks like a white arrow with a bulls eye on the brown spot around her tail. Perfect since his birthday party this year was a Nerf party.. hitting the bulls eye. We had her name picked out a long time ago, Piper! Or as Connor calls her Viper Piper the Sniper.
Piper- she's such a sweet dog, but very hyper. She has those razor sharp baby teeth that like to bite on everything. She's a fantastic travel buddy. When you put her in her crate she instantly lays down and goes to sleep. Even if she wakes up she finds a toy to play with and just chills. Sounds don't bother her. She's great in the car. She's not afraid of other animals or people. Great with kids... although she does have those sharp baby teeth and puppies explore with their mouths. Kaiden was excited to get Piper, until we got back in the car to drive to aunt Sue's after we got Piper. Then he was mad because he said now HE can't be a puppy anymore. For the last several months Kaiden has been pretending to be a puppy from time to time and he was afraid he wouldn't be able to do that anymore now. Connor was sooo excited to finally bring her home. Piper is 8 weeks old and 6 pounds.

Kaiden play date
While Connor was at Cub Scout camp I had a play date for Kaiden with Landry and his baby brother Isaiah.
