Spring has Sprung

Cub Scouts Derby Race

All the kids had so much fun at the derby race.  We bought 3 kits to make cars, but used the scrap piece of wood from my car to build Kaiden a car for fun too.  Kaiden's car was kinda thrown together, whereas we actually spent a little bit of time on the other 3 cars... turns out Kaiden's car was the fastest!  He was even faster than the other cub scout cars too, which they really invested time and effort into their cars.  Kaiden's car is the navy blue with a Lego person driving it.  Second fastest in our group was Jason- black, 3rd was mine- teal and last place was Connor's- orange.  Connor got second place in the cub scout race group.

Kaiden's 3rd birthday party

The party started at 1:00pm.  It was Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle John, cousin Ryan, Johanna, Aunt Staci, and our family of 4.  Connor still wasn't feeling good and slept through most of the party.  Collin and Natalie were invited, but it was also their dad's birthday, so they were unable to attend.  Waylon and Ilona said they were coming, but never showed up.  Kaiden and Ryan had a blast though.  I hid 12 car/trucks in the backyard for the boys to find.  Then Connor, Kaiden and Ryan all got to keep one in each color.  Instead of doing our traditional BBQ, I went with snack type foods instead.  I made a hot crab dip inside a bread bowl, jello jigglers, pepperoni and string cheese inside a garlic butter crescent roll up with marina sauce, and a mixed fresh fruit bowl with cinnamon chips.  For desert we had cupcakes and Stephani's lemon pie recipe.  It's like a lemon ice cream... so good!

 Grandpa brought up some of his wood working equipment to carve out our derby cars for the Cub Scout Derby race next week.

 After the party the boys decided to play with some play doh.  Johanna had fun too.
