kaiden

My goofy little Kaiden...

He loves to help out.  Sweeping the floors.  He always puts things back where he found them.  For example if he gets his sippy cup from the end table and walks around drinking it, he always puts it back in the same spot on the end table when he's done.  If he find something small on the floor (lint) he will always pick it up and hand it to us too.

If he gets hurt no matter where he always grabs his nose.  Then when we ask him where it hurts he will point to his head or wherever.  He shakes his head yes and no, which is helpful when we're trying to figure out what he wants to eat.  He says "mama" and "dada."

Connor's birthday luncheon

We had grandma, grandpa, Uncle John, Aunt Laura and cousins Alivia and Ryan over for a birthday lunch.  We served BBQ chicken sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches, chips, dip, watermelon (which we forgot to cut), macaroni salad and snicker salad grandma brought and a spicy pasta salad that Laura brought.

Connor got a bunch of Lego 3 in 1 Creator building sets!  My little inventor loves his Lego's!  He will sit at the table for hours making new Lego creations.

Since we still had over half his cake left we served that for desert... and he got to blow the candles out again.

When grandma and grandpa were leaving after the party we heard the ice cream truck in the neighborhood and grandma gave Connor a couple dollars to get an ice cream... he chose this cute minion ice cream.
I'm so lucky to have such a sweet, loving, kind hearted boy.  Connor is truly amazing.  He has always been a super kid.  He listens, follows directions and loves to help out.  He's so understanding... even when I can't spent time playing with him because I'm busy chasing or cleaning up after Kaiden.  Currently he wants to be an inventor when he grows up.  His favorite color is orange.  He loves Lego's and Pokemon.  He also likes to play with his Hero Factory and Bionicals (robots that you create by putting different parts together) and his Rescue Bots (part of the Transformers).  His favorite food is breaded chicken patties, sausage or anything chocolate.  He loves Tic Tac's.  His bed is covered in stuffed animals and he always brings 2-3 stuffed animals downstairs every morning.  He collects polished rocks, marbles and feathers.  Favorite cartoon is "Miles from Tomorrow land."  Favorite sport is basketball and soccer.

Kaiden's newest fascination is to ride the arm of the couch like a horse.  He laughs and laughs.  Kaiden says "Hi" and "Uh-Oh" all the time, usually followed by a wave or pointing at something.  His absolute favorite toy is his big white bunny from grandma.  He loves his bunny and it goes everywhere with him.  He sleeps with his bunny and carries it everywhere.  If he gets a bonk he always hugs his bunny to make it better.  He's still very attached to his pacifiers too.  His favorite food is raisins, followed by sausage and crackers.  He also really likes yogurts and ice cream.  We think he might be lactose intolerant.. he does fine eating cheese, yogurt, etc., but he vomits every time he drinks milk.  Milk with cereal is fine, but he can't handle drinking any volume of milk.  We had to switch him back to formula for his bed time bottle.  He has 12 teeth.  He's a picky eater.  He likes to chew food up and spit it out.  Favorite cartoon is "Mikey Mouse Club House."  Likes to play with bouncy balls (especially balls that light up when you bounce them) and trucks.  Kaiden is always smiling and laughing.  He's very active and always on the go.  He sleeps for 11 hours at night and takes a 2 hour nap during the day.  He gives the best hugs.  He's so loving and carrying.  He's very protective of his brother.  He gets upset when we wrestle Connor and Connor screams or makes a loud noise.  If he thinks anyone is hurting his big brother he gets really upset, cries and will attack the person.  His bottom lip quivers when we tell him NO in a stern voice.  He gives high fives and kinda gives knuckles (he uses 1 finger for knuckles).  He loves to play peek-a-boo.

part 2

Connor's Get Air Party- part 1

Connor wanted to have his party at Get Air trampoline center this year.  So, we bought a party package for 10 kids and sent out invitations the last week of school.  I tried to talk Jason into having the party a week after school got out because I knew parents would forget about the party in the middle of summer.  Plus families go on trips and camping and well, life just takes over and you forget about the birthday invitation that was sent out over a month ago.  Half the parents confirmed they were coming and I double checked with the families of 4 of the kids just 2 weeks prior and they were set to come still.  But unfortunately the day of his party I got a message from one parent that she had to work late and they wouldn't make it and then things just keep going down hill...  I called my friend Tina who lives close to the mall and they came to play with us, but they were the only one's who showed up.  Connor was happy.  He loves Zach and Jakob, so he had a blast and didn't seem to mind that all his school buddies didn't show up.  I think it bothered me more than him.  I ran into a parent a few days later who apologized because they found the invitation the day after the party and realized they missed it by accident.  Jason finally realized WHY I kept trying to talk him into having the party at the end of the school year... I hate when he realizes I'm right AFTER the fact.  Anyway, Connor had fun and the Get Air crew did a great job decorating our party room.  I brought some Pokemon decorations, but they did such a great job I didn't have to add much.  Oh and we had to stop to pick up his cake on the way, which we bought at Rosauers and they did an excellent job decorating!  But right after we left their parking lot Kaiden puked... and not just a little bit either.  It was all over him and his car seat.  So, as soon as we arrived at the mall Connor and I went to drop the cake and ice cream off at Get Air while Jason and Kaiden went to clean up and buy him some new clothes.

Connor is 7

Happy Birthday Connor!
He was dying to open his Pokemon cards.  I should have wrapped them in a big box to trick him.  A couple weeks before school got out some of his friends gave him some Pokemon cards and every since he's been really into Pokemon.

100 Pokemon cards to sort through
