Go! Chief's Go!

We go to several Chief games every winter and this is typically what it looks like... Connor brings his phone (which is Jason's old smart phone and it's not activated) and plays video games while Jason, Kaiden and I actually watch the game and munch on popcorn.  Kaiden loves to watch hockey and gets excited to go.  Connor could care less about hockey, but he will take any opportunity he can to play video games on his phone.  For Jason and I it's a chance to get out of the house, which is always needed in the winter.

 Friday night was hockey.  So, Saturday I bought tickets for Jason, Connor, Connor's best friend Mason, Kaiden and I to see the new How to Train Your Dragon movie at the new Dinner and a Movie theater in Airway Heights.  We're hooked!  The theater is so nice.  They only seat 24 people, which you have to buy your ticket in advance on-line.  The seats are comfortable recliners with a pull out side tray.  You push a button on your tray and a server comes to your seat to place your order.  You can recline, relax, eat dinner and enjoy a movie.  Super cool!  We loved it.  The movie was great too.  We love the How to Train Your Dragon series!  Afterwards Connor spent the night at Mason's house.  We try to give Kaiden an extra special evening when Connor spends the night at a friends house, so that Kaiden doesn't feel left out.  Kaiden loves it.  Plus we let him sleep in our bed, which he thinks is awesome.

This was Connor's school musical.  It was originally suppose to be February 12th, but since school was canceled that day due to snow they had to reschedule for February 19th.  Unfortunately Jason was out of town for work and couldn't go.  Kaiden and I went to the 1:30 performance for the school and took the pictures below.  Then we went back for the 6:30 parent performance and face timed with Jason so he could watch the performance from his hotel room.  The kids sang 5 songs: Positive, I like me, I'd rather be happy, I'm letting it go and Think good thoughts.  Great message and the kids sounded fantastic.

Silver Mountain

After breakfast we headed up the gondola to the top of the mountain for some skiing.  Unfortunately it started snowing pretty hard.  It was snowing so much that they made us take our ski's off to ride up the conveyor belt and then put them back on once we were off at the top.  The boys really didn't care for that idea.  We went down a few runs, but it was very powdery, thick, wet and the visibility was poor.  So, the boys decided they didn't want to ski and would rather head back to the warm indoor water park instead.  I left with the kids and we had fun at the water park, while Jason stayed up on the mountain and skied until they closed down around 3:00 and then met up with us at the water park for some fun before driving back home.  As a treat I bought the boys a dirt and worm pudding cup for desert and we stopped at the McDonald's next to the resort for dinner and desert.  The boys crashed out before we ever made it out of Idaho.

 

Silver Mountain

We decided spur of the moment to spent Valentines at Silver Mountain this year.  I loaded the car up and as soon as Connor was out of school we took off for the mountain.  Jason met us there when he was off work.  We settled into our condo and immediately Kaiden throws up.  He had told me that morning when he woke up that he had a headache, which usually means he's going to throw up.  But he ate breakfast and said he was fine.  Until he vomited on the floor.  I cleaned it up and Kaiden laid down on the bed and kinda took a nap for the next 30 minutes.  Then he said he was fine.  We headed for the indoor water park thinking I would cuddle Kaiden on one of the lounge chairs while Connor and Jason played around and if needed I could bring Kaiden back to the condo to go to bed early.  Kaiden was a bit resistant and didn't really even want to go to the water park, but we talked him into trying it out.  I was thinking the steam might help.  The minute we walked threw the doors Kaiden's face lit up and he was so excited to be there.  He took off running and had so much fun playing.  We were there for a few hours and he said he felt good from that point on and it appeared that he was back to normal too.  Kaiden loved the toddler area with the slides and swings.  Connor spent most of his time playing at the jungle gym kids area in the center.  I hung out with Kaiden while Jason kept an eye on Connor.  Divide and conquer.  Best Valentines EVER!

 Jason tried to surf... epic fail!  We just missed Connor who had tried to body surf.  He wasn't a fan and wouldn't try it again.

 Afterwards we put on some dry clothes and walked down to the village for a delicious valentines dinner.  Jason and I even got some drinks!  We ended the night with a How to Train Your Dragon movie in bed.

Last weekend Connor spent the night at his best friend, Mason's house.  Friday night they went to see the new Lego movie in the theater.  Saturday they went bowling together.  Then Sunday I took Connor and Kaiden to see the Small Foot movie in the theater.  Monday and Tuesday school was canceled for snow days.  Lucky kid!!

Valentines

For Valentines I got Jason a massive card that we all signed and a new pair of his favorite fleece pants.  I got Kaiden a Sky Paw Patrol figure and helicopter and a Paw Patrol movie.  I got Connor a Last Kids on Earth book, Magic Tree House Dragon book and Hotel Transylvania movie.  No candy this year.  Everyone was happy with their gifts.  My gift was the smiles on their faces.
