summer fun
Connor and Collin built a scrap pile and ramp for their remote control toys to climb and roll over. Then Collin, Connor and Kaiden assembled and painted bird houses. Bottom picture Connor wanted. It's our "pet" spider who lives on our covered front porch. The boys named his OR (Orville Redenbacher) since he's a popcorn spider. Collin has a "pet" popcorn spider living in the light fixture on his garage too, which he named Pop. They compare pet spiders and check on them frequently. OR is quiet a bit bigger than Pop. I was instructed that I can not squish OR unless he/she has babies... then I can smash them all. OR lived on our porch all summer in the same spot above my hanging basket and never bothered anything. In November he and Pop both died and fell to the ground. We never found an egg sac... so the boys think OR was a male.

ENT
Connor finally had surgery to get his tonsils and adenoids removed. Plus new tubes put in. We have been going to the ear, nose and throat specialist since kindergarten when he first started saying that his ears were ringing all the time. Come to find out he inherited his fathers tonsils which were HUGE! The doctor said they call them "kissing tonsils" because even when he was sedated for surgery and his mouth was open the tonsils were still touching. So glad we finally have them out and he will hopefully never experience ringing in his ears, snoring or sleep apnea now. I put Kaiden in daycare that morning and then went with Connor to his appointment. He puked right after we loaded him in the car after surgery and then again in the parking lot of the pharmacy when I was getting his meds. For the first several days I had a schedule and he took Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Oxycontin and antibiotic drops. He spent a week laying on the couch, watching movies, napping... Right after surgery his buddy Collin came over to make sure he was okay and brought him some jello. What a good little friend. The doctor wrapped the legs of the octopus (George) that Connor took with him to surgery. At the pharmacy I let him pick out anything he wanted and he picked the porcupine stuffy.
