Harlem Globetrotters

The 4 of us got to watch a Harlem Globetrotters basketball game.  Although Connor was more entertained playing Pokemon Go on his phone than watching the game.

My boys

 Connor

Connor's favorite color is orange, bright orange.  He loves the orange hat I got him for Halloween and wears it all the time.  He hates to wear blue jeans.  He likes to wear fleece pants, sweats, jogging pants, etc.  Good things we have 2 boys because we have a stack of bran new jeans sitting in Connor's closet that never get worn.  He won't wear flip flops- doesn't like anything between his toes.  He has very ticklish feet and it's a struggle just to get him to let us cut his toe nails.  He prefers to take a shower over a bath.  He's my awesome eater.  He usually cleans his plate without any complaints.  He loves veggies, especially asparagus.  Veggies tend to be the first thing gone from his plate.  Favorite after school treat is frozen blueberries.  He calls them "icy blueberries" and they are literally just organic frozen blueberries.  He usually wakes up before Kaiden and I in the mornings and comes downstairs to watch cartoons till we get up.  His favorite shows are- Wild Krats, Ready Jet Go, and Ben Ten.  His favorite breakfast is Kodiak waffles.  Favorite toy- Lego's.  He sometimes creates from directions, but lately prefers to use the pieces to create his own inventions.  He loves the Dragon Masters chapter books.  He reads a chapter to us each evening.  He likes to play games on Jason's old iphone or the ipad.  He earns time on the iphone/ipad by reading.  Every chapter he reads earns him 20 minutes of play time.  Occasionally he will read 2 chapters just to get extra play time.  When he's really good we let him play for longer too.  Like when he helps around the house and reads then he sometimes gets to play for an hour.  Before bed he likes to watch a "clip" which is a 15 minute cartoon on Netflix.  Both kids like the Rescue Bot clips.  We usually let them watch 2 clips.  His best friend at school is TeJon, who also lives a few blocks from us.  He spent the night at TeJon's house for his first ever sleep over on Jan. 14, 2017.  His other best friend is Collin, who lives 2 houses over from us.  They play together in the front yards all the time.  Connor is a very sweet, kind, generous, loving kid.  He's always willing to help.  He rarely gets in trouble.  He just started getting annoyed with his little brother, Kaiden.  Mainly because Kaiden likes to get into his Lego's.  When Connor gets nervous, frustrated, mad... he clenches his fists.  Connor is really good at math and science.  He gets 100% on his spelling tests.  He still needs to improve on reading though.  He's actually a pretty good reader, but he's slow and he still sounds out words that he knows. 

Kaiden

Kaiden's favorite color is blue and green.  He knows most of his colors, except he forgets the name red.  He's still a little hard to understand sometimes.  Like blue- boo, yellow- ellow.  He can count to 5, but sometimes starts with 2.  He sings the ABC song (we sing it in the car sometimes going to the gym) but he's too young to identify individual letters.  He still loves his bunnies and takes them everywhere.  His bed is covered with stuffed animals, just like Connor.  He also had a row of Christmas twinkle lights on his ceiling at night, just like Connor.  His favorite toys are- cars, trucks, transformers, dinosaurs, race tracks.  He recently started potty training and wears a pull up during the day.  He hasn't pooped in his pull up/diaper for a long time.  Potty is still hit and miss.  He prefers to sit on his little mini potty over the big toilet.  We recently told him since he's a big boy now that he only needs his pacifier for sleeping at night and not during the day.  For a few days he still used his pacifier during the daytime, but then he just stopped and only used it at night.  That lasted for a few weeks and then I asked him if he was ready to give his pacifier to a baby and he agreed.  We didn't actually give them to anyone, but he reminded us that pacifiers were for babies and he was a big boy now.  I really expected it to be harder to break him of his pacifier since he has been soooo addicted to having it around, but it was super easy.  We just talked to him and then let him have a few days to adjust... and then he was ready to give it up on his own.  Kaiden loves breads, carbs, dairy.  He's not a fan of veggies.  Although he does like my asparagus.  He likes to watch Curious George cartoon and Daniel Tiger in the mornings while he wakes up.  Then we have Kodiak waffles with peanut butter or almond butter.  He loves to be outside.  His favorite thing is to ride his strider bike.  He's super fast on it too!
