Kaiden rode his strider bike while I walked to the park in town (1 mile there, 1 mile back). We brought a picnic lunch/snack with us. Then when Connor got home from school we rode bikes to the post office and grocery store (3 mile ride).
We were recently out for a bike ride (me and the boys) when we rode past a house and hear someone yelling Connor's name... it was his girlfriend, Rachel's house. So, we stopped and met her mom and 2 sisters. We exchanged numbers and planned a play date for the park. Connor rode his bike while I pulled Kaiden in the cart behind my bike to Rachel's house (1.5 miles from our house), then the 7 of us walked from Rachel's house to Water Front park (1.5 miles), played at the park, then walked back to her house and then me and the boys rode back home. 3 mile bike ride and 3 mile walk. I found out later that Connor and Rachel were planning their wedding while they walked. The "plan" is that they will get married when Connor is 21 and Rachel is 20. They plan to both be Engineers/ Inventors together. They play at recess together every day. Apparently 2 other girls in Connor's class are jealous because they also have a crush on Connor. He's brought home little love notes from them. Rachel told Connor that he gives her feelings she's never felt before. That night after dinner and bath we had a camp fire and s'mores.

We made a birthday sign to greet Jason when he got home from Chicago. We had to celebrate his birthday a day later. I planned on taking him out to a nice dinner, but he decided to ditch us for a bike ride and run with his friends. When he did get home we had ice cream cake. He had requested the same cake we had for Kaiden's birthday- Dairy Queen chocolate extreme blizzard cake. I bought him 2 different pairs of fleece sweat pants, since his favorite pair has holes in the knees and a shoe string for the waist.. he wears them daily in the winter. He's kinda picky though.. I had to find ones that were fitted on the ankles, pockets, loose fitting...
Jason was in Chicago for his birthday. He was there for work Monday-Wednesday, so he went to a Chicago Cubs baseball game with a co-worker on his birthday. We made him a birthday sign to greet him when he got home. The top pictures are of the bench that I made to go by the front door. This was my first attempt at any wood-working projects. I bought the boards, Jason said I could use his tools (although I had to figure out how to use them on my own), I bought a Kreg Jig and figured out how to use that, wood stain, sealer... I love it.
Saturday the boys went over to Raheem and Landry's house for their baby brother, Isaiah's 1st birthday party. Afterward their parents asked if the boys could have a sleep over. Landry is Kaiden's best friend. He's a few months younger than Kaiden. Raheem is one of Connor's best friends and he's 1 month younger than Connor. We knew Connor would be fine since he's had sleep overs before, but we were a little concerned about Kaiden since he's never had a sleep over before and he just turned 4. But we decided to give it a try since both boys would be there and they only live a few houses down from us. Turns out Kaiden did amazing! I did warn them that he won't sleep in the dark. He needs some light on. The 4 boys camped out in their living room and they left the hall light on. Three of them made it until morning... Landry bailed during the night. The boys came home with big smiles the next morning. (You can really see Connor's fangs in the top picture... this kid is going to definitely need braces).
