Manito again

Connor and I had so much fun at Manito Park, that we all decided to go on Saturday.

Jason and Connor had a blast at the splash pad, even if the water was freezing cold.

After hours of playing at the splash pad and a picnic lunch, we went to check out the Japanese Koi Garden.  Connor was exhausted from all the running and splashing... so he got a ride on dad's shoulders.

 visiting with a local squirrel
We decided to camp in the back yard that night since the low was only going to be 66 for the night.  I dug out our camping gear and set everything up, while Jason adjusted the PH in our pool and relaxed with a beer on the patio.
Connor wanted to sleep in his own tent with the dogs.  We started the night off with Connor in the small tent with both dogs.  Jason and myself in the big tent.
We woke up to Connor and Nala in the small tent and me in the big tent.  Jason and Chloe bailed during the night and we found them snoozing in the living room.  This is after Jason made me promise to stay outside all night (last year I bailed for the comforts of my bed).
Connor still snoozing with his favorite stuffed animal... his doggy from Aunt Staci and Uncle Tony that he got when he was first born.
And our escape camper snoozing on the couch.
I woke up first and went to the store to get sausage.  My spoiled boys woke up to a breakfast feast.

Manito

Nothing is better than a sunny day at Manito Park with my favorite buddy!
A little fun on the play ground
a quick potty break and stop to check out the duck pond

more fun on the play ground

a picnic lunch then a walk through the rose garden

"Follow me mom.  I'm the leader"

 walk through another flower garden
and yet another flower garden.. Duncan Garden

some fun at the splash pad
a walk through the green house on our way to get the car and move it to the splash pad and upper play ground parking lot
then more fun at the play ground and splash pad.  Last year Connor was the driest kid at the splash pad.  This year he's the wettest, most daring kid at the splash pad!

What a beautiful, fun day at Manito!

Independence Day!

Happy 4th of July!  We started our celebration off with a trip to River Front Park.

Connor loves to ride the Carousel
but what he loves even more is to ride the real pony's!  He's been asking to ride a real horse for weeks now.

Then it was off for some games and fun at the play center

refreshment time... Jason and I got much needed Mocha's, while Connor enjoyed his ice cold chocolate milk.
Check out my cool tattoo mom!
Sushi Maru lunch!  I've been wanting to check this place out.  A conveyor belt goes by your table and you choose which plates to try.  The food was delicious, but Jason and I are both a bit hesitant to try the raw fish... we stuck to the cooked plates.

We joined our next door neighbors to enjoy the firework show in front of our houses.  Fire works are legal in our small town, so everyone on our street bought a bunch and we enjoyed a great show.

Our neighbor, Jon and Jason visiting.
 Sparklers!

Our neighbor, Vicki with her grandkids: Sawyer, Max, Jesse... and Connor
The sky was twinkling bright in our neighborhood all night long!
The next morning we checked out our rock candy... it's done!

My handsome pirate on cleaning day.  We had a lot of fire work pieces to pick up in our yard.
