Manito Park

Day 3 of summer break:  Today we had Connor's ENT appointment.  Both tubes are now out of his ears.  We have a hearing test in 3 months and if all goes well we are done.  He no longer snores now that his tonsils are out.  The ringing has stopped.  There is no fluid in his ears.  Unfortunately I think Kaiden will need to have his removed later on too.  He snores pretty loud due to his enlarged tonsils from his father too.  Anyway after his appointment we grabbed some McD's and went to Manito park for a picnic lunch followed by playing and checking out the park for 3 hours.  I love these crazy little ninja warrior kids!  Kaiden wants to be just like his big brother... he so wants to have "fangs" just like Connor too.  His goofy faces in the bottom pictures are him trying to look "tough with fangs."  Connor loves having fangs, which is great because the dentist wants us to wait a few more years before we give him braces.  We had a perfect day for exploring the park and having fun.  After 3 hours of fun it started to rain while we were at the play ground on the far end of the park, so we decided to head for the car and go home.

summer break

First day of summer break: I had to work, but the boys painted pictures in the morning.

Second day of summer break: I had to work again.  Today was Hanna's last day until fall.  Since EWU is also out for the summer she's moving back home for the break and then she will be back in the fall.  She knows the boys love to draw and color, so she bought Connor a huge multi colored crayon and Kaiden 3 multi colored small crayons that look like rocks.  They both loved them.  Jason went to the store and bought her a gift card.  Since he was there he decided to get me something too (2 days after my birthday).  He got me a balloon, card, Connor picked out some dark chocolate strawberry bark, Kaiden picked out carrots and some cookies and cream mini cupcakes.  He left it on the counter for me to find when I got home from work at midnight.  you can see one of Connor's large drawings behind the stuff on the counter.  Pictured below is Kaiden being a super hero and Connor's Lego table.  Our formal dining room table (which never gets used) has become Connor's Lego table for the last year.  He spends countless hours creating his own creatures, villages, battle fields, etc.

last day of school

Saturday: The top picture is from Alivia's graduation brunch at her joint party at her best friends house.
Tuesday, June 12: That was Connor's last day of school and they were out at 11:15.  It was also my birthday.  The night prior Kaiden wasn't feeling good and ended up getting a headache and vomiting 5 times.  Jason carried him up to bed and didn't realize he still had his undies on and not a pull up... so I woke up on my birthday to a little boy with wet pants crawling into bed with me.  Kaiden likes to snuggle in bed with me if he wakes up before I do.  After I cleaned him up I spent the morning washing all Kaiden and our bedding.  Then I mowed the front and back yard.  After Connor was out of school we grabbed some 'out of school' McD's and drove up north to get my hair cut and colored.  My appointment was suppose to be the week prior, but my hair dresser had to cancel and change the date since she sold her house and needed to finish moving out.  Then we stopped at Costco, which I had done the day prior but I forgot to buy some TP, so we stopped for TP and grabbed some rotisserie chicken wraps for dinner (which turned out to be horrible).  We ended the night with the movie Coco, chosen by Connor.  Connor drew me a picture for my birthday.  Jason ditched us to go for a swim and bike ride with his friends (typical these days).

Ryan's birthday

Today Kaiden's best friend, Landry and his little brother, Isaiah came over for a few hours to play.  Connor had field day at his school.  After school we raced up north to Ryan's birthday party.  Since Alivia is graduating this weekend they had family in from North Dakota, so they rented this big house with an indoor pool for the families to stay and decided to have Ryan's birthday pool party here.  After the party we met Jason (who didn't go to the party) at the Flying Irish running club to visit for a while then we went out to Davids Pizza.

Connor's school picnic

Kaiden and I went to Connor's school for the family picnic (it's actually a hamburger lunch in the cafeteria) and then we joined him outside for recess. Then we came home and I drew a race track with chalk in the driveway for Kaiden to race around while Connor read his Notebook of Doom book.  The bottom picture is of Hannah.  In April we got rid of our daycare after they raised their rates for the 2nd time this year (almost doubling our cost) and decided to hire someone from Care.com.  We found Hannah and just love her!  She's an EWU student going into teaching.  She comes to our house to watch the kids, which is even better.
