Day 3: Legoland day 1

I bought a 5 day pass for Legoland and Jason booked our hotel 4 miles from Legoland.  The kids were so excited to see Legoland.  Today was the first day and we had planned on scouting out the entire park and deciding which parts we liked the best for the following trips.  We were there from 9:40am-4:00 pm and by the time we left we were sooo exhausted.  When we got to the hotel we pulled out the Legoland map (feeling pretty confident that we had seen most of the park) only to discover that in our 6 hours there we only managed to see about half of the park... if even that.   Legoland is huge!  Tons of rides, water park, aquarium... each area is sectioned into themes.  Kaiden's favorite theme area was "tiny town" which is geared more towards toddler rides and attractions.  Connor's favorite was "Ninjago" which had a ride that took you through almost like a video game that you interact with.  You use your arms to send balls into the video game and take out the bad guys.  The majority of the rides had a short wait time, maybe 10-15 minutes, but Connor's favorite ride with the video game had a 45 minute wait.  Everything at Legoland is made of Lego's of course.

A boat ride through a fairy tail land

One thing that I thought was awesome is any ride that typically has a little bit of a wait time in line they would put a pile of lego's on tables in the middle and the kids could play and build while the adults waited in line around the middle play area of lego's.  That sure made the time go by faster for the kids!

the first day I bought lunches for us at Legoland.  I was actually impressed the food was pretty good.  I had a curry chicken dish, Jason had a philly cheese sandwich and the boys split chicken strips, fries, an apple and juice.  Plus all the snacks that we brought. below is bins of legos and below that is a machine showing how legos are made.

after legoland we had sandwiches at the hotel, swam some more and watched TV.  San Diego was 68-74 the entire time we were there.  Spokane was in the high 90's.

Day 2: beach

We woke up, had breakfast downstairs at the hotel- typically the boys either had waffles or cereal, with a yogurt, muffins, or fruit and orange juice.  Then we went for a swim at the hotel while we waited to switch rooms.  We had a room with 2 queens (room 308) and switched to a room with a king and hidda bed (room 333).  Connor and Kaiden share one bed and Jason and I get the other.  The queen sits too high off the ground and we were scared of him rolling off the bed.  The hidda bed was perfect- still gave them plenty of room but it's lower to the ground and had the side arms of the couch for added protection against rolling off.  We never had any problems with either of them rolling off.  Plus Jason and I are used to sleeping in a king and having our own space to sprawl out.  After the room switch, then it was off to check out the beaches.  The beach had soft sand and near the water the beach was covered in little clams.  The boys collected shells and played in the sand.  We actually checked out 2 beaches, but I combined the pictures.

My sweet Connor and the many faces (and attidudes) of my adorable Kaiden

After hours and hours at the beach we walked into town to get some ice cream to cool off.  Then we went to check out a "pirate park."  Kaiden is so daring... this kid has no fear and slides down the slide on his belly.. backwards sometimes too.  We went to a restaurant Grill that had high rating for dinner, but we weren't all that impressed.  Then back to the hotel to swim some more and hot tub, which is where Kaiden and I spent most of our time.  Connor learned how to do front and back flips in the pool, and cannon balls.  Then it was TV time with popcorn in our room.
