We hiked the Lake Lenore Caves Trail, which we discovered is a very rough, trecherous pathway to caves. After the last cave at the very end of the trail we decided to take what we thought was a short cut back to the parking lot, but half way back we had to make our own pathway
This was our first time camping at Sun Lakes and by a happy accident Jason booked the "large family" campsite. Originally it was suppose to be our RV and our friend Kevin's truck and trailer in this spot, but right before the camping trip we discovered they only allow 1 RV/trailer on the spot and 3 tents. So, Jason called and told them our mistake and since the campsite was already full they let us rent one of the camp host sites for Kevin's trailer. But as it turns out all the camp sites are super small and you really don't get any private space from your neighbor... expect for the "large family" spot, which has a HUGE open area all to ourselves. And really no close neighbors! It was wonderful. We went for walks, Kaiden and Piper played in the water, Connor played games on his phone and read his book, relaxed in the hammock, played outdoor and indoor games, watched movies and played mini golf at the resort. I pre-made a bunch of meals for this trip- chicken enchiladas, chicken salad sandwiches, chicken pot pies, etc. We had a camp fire with smores. This was a really fun trip!
Connor had some friends over for the day: Mason, Rachel and Gerald. They started off with a nerf gun war in the basement, Mason and Gerald went swimming in our pool (which we had just filled and the water was freezing cold), they played some pickleball in the front driveway- we found out Gerald is actually a really good pickleball/tennis player! He's never played before but he's really good. In fact he decided he's going to join the tennis team at school next year now. Jason even played a match against Gerald... I think Gerald won. Then they played some Uno in the backyard.
