Concrete

Last year we had a new patio poured which spans the length of our house.  This year we had a concrete pad poured on the side yard next to the garage and also tore up the old driveway to repave it because the original pad that was laid 18 years ago was cracking and pitting.  We were told that some contractors would mix in ash to save money and that's what causes the cracking and pitting.  A bunch of our neighbors have the same issue.  Jason also talked our cable company into burring their box which sits at the end of our driveway in front of the double gate into our backyard.  Of course they charged us to burry it, but Jason was thrilled to have it out of his way when he's backing up the boat now!  We also found out when they attached the brick accents to the front of the garage 18 years ago they did it wrong. The brick was only cemented vertically but not horizontally, so when they removed the concrete under the brick it all cracked and fell.  Which means we now have another new project to add to the list...
