twins

I got the boys matching "awesome Big brother" and "cool Lil' brother" shirts and was hoping to get a picture of them wearing them... but Kaiden wasn't in the mood for pictures. He's a very stubborn kid too.

Kaiden recently started saying "Hi" which is fun when we go shopping and he says Hi to everyone we meet in the isle.

Tubin'

We bought a tube for our boat last year, but never got the chance to use it. So, this year we got a sitter for Kaiden and invited Greg and Joanna Wallweber to go tubing with us. Jason and Greg took turns driving the boat. First up was Greg, who jumped in the water and was ready to go. We were on Silver lake, which is right by our house and our favorite lake to cruise on. The water is incredibly warm, like bath water.

Next up was Connor and Jason. The tube we bought is a 1-2 person tube, so that Connor could go tubing with us. Connor had mixed emotions.. excited and nervous, but as soon as the boat started pulling the tube he loved it!

Next was Joanna, which surprised us all since she doesn't know how to swim and doesn't like to be in or near water. She had fun though and said she would do it again.

My turn! I had so much fun, but next time I think I'm going to bring some goggles so I can see and breath when the waves are really splashing in your face. I love the speed. The faster the better, but at some point it's not that much fun when your face is getting pounded with water and you can't see or breath... so I'm hoping goggles will fix that problem and I can have my speed and enjoy it. We used the thumbs up and thumbs down to signal faster and slower.

4th of July

Fireworks are legal in our small town, but since it's been so hot and dry the city sent out notices asking people to not set fireworks off. For that reason we didn't buy any fireworks. At dinner time Connor asked if he could still do sparklers and pop it's though... so, Jason and Connor ran to the firework stand and bought a few little fireworks. We pulled up some chairs and joined 2 of our neighbors to watch the firework show... since some of our neighbors still bought fireworks. Earlier in the evening before dusk our neighbor 2 houses over (the Farmens) caught a tree in their backyard on fire when they were letting fireworks off. They managed to get the fire out before the fire department arrived though and didn't let off any fireworks after that. That was the only fire that we heard of all evening.

Waylon, Ilona and Connor playing with sparklers. Kaiden was in bed before dusk, so he missed all the fireworks and slept through the noise. Dani and I were sitting behind the kids visiting. (Larry had to work)
