fun

just for fun I took some pictures of Kaiden in a basket. I can't believe how fast this kid is growing!

Kaiden and I had our first outing alone... to the hospital for his second set of newborn blood tests (the heel poke for the blood spots to test for genetic disorders).

long hair

Kaiden was born with tons of dark, long hair.  It's about an inch or so long on top and in the back.

1 week after delivery I went from being +29 pounds to +12 pounds!  I'm only 12 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight!  I dropped 17 pounds already.
This is what Kaiden looks like after his belly is nice and full... milk coma!

Olesya

Jason ran Blooms Day this year in 1.09.  Not his best time, but considering he hasn't been able to run lately to prepare and worst of all he hasn't got much sleep in the last week or so...  I would say 1.09 isn't too bad!  This year it was windy and rainy for the run too.  I love this picture of Jason... it shows how exhausted and wore out this new daddy is.  The last 2 years Jason has run Blooms Day with the corporate cup and then met up with me and Connor to walk the Blooms Day course with us.  Obviously Connor and I didn't do Bloom Day this year with Kaiden being so young, but maybe next year the 4 of us will be back in action.

Jason was hoping to get a nap after his run, but both boys settled onto his lap and they ended up getting the nap instead.

My nursing friend, Olesya Vlasenko stopped by with her husband, Roman and two beautiful girls, Nina and Eva.  She is such a sweet friend.  She brought over a huge casserole dish with the most delicious dinner for us.  I have to say it was so nice to have something for dinner besides cheese casadia's, grilled cheese sandwiches or the chicken enchilada's that I made before my C/S.

Kaiden checking out the bouncy seat for the first time.  He wasn't real sure about the vibration at first.  But he loves to sleep at either an incline on his back or his favorite... laying on his belly against either my chest or Jason's chest.  He's not a fan of laying flat on his back.  We have a wedge in his bassinet so he can sleep on his back with an incline.

I love to see the sparkle in Connor's eyes and big smile every time he gets a chance to hold his little brother.

Big Brother

Connor loves being a big brother.  He is very eager to help any way he can and to hold his brother any time he can.  I've been breast feeding, but recently started pumping too, so that I could have a bottle for Connor and Jason to feed Kaiden with.  Plus it gives me a little break since this kiddo eats every 2 hours.  Connor was so excited to be able to feed his little brother a bottle.

Opening ceremony for Connor's t-ball team.  We're on the same team as we were in Fall, the Twins!  Only this time the colors are black instead of red.  The league asked Jason to be a coach.  He decided since Kaiden is so young he would be an assistant coach for this season and maybe a head coach next season.  Of course there is no picture of me and Kaiden since I was behind the camera.  It was a little bit breezy, so I had Kaiden strapped to my chest in an infant front pack with a fleece blanket wrapped around him, plus my jacket zipped up around the both of us.  Needless to say he stayed nice and toasty warm and slept the entire time.  He loves to lay against my chest or Jason's chest and listen to our heart beat.  That's a guaranteed way to put him to sleep in seconds!

big brother party

Jason's sister, Sue gave me a great idea to throw a Big Brother party for Connor at his school to celebrate Connor, since so much attention is on the baby.  Although he's such a great kid and hasn't been jealous of the attention at all.  The party was also nice because his birthday is in July so he won't get a birthday party at school, so this party was kinda similar to a birthday party.  He loved it.  I wasn't going to bring Kaiden since the party was all about Connor, but I'm not suppose to drive for 2 weeks after having a Cesarean section (probably because most woman are still on narcotics, but since I'm not on anything I should be able to drive, but Jason didn't want to let me).  The party was in the cafeteria because his teacher didn't want to pick cupcake frosting off the classroom floor, so Jason sat in the waiting area by the front doors with Kaiden, which is on one side of the cafeteria so he could still see everything going on.  Connor and Jason had gone to the store the day before and Connor picked out chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with Jake and the Never land Pirate rings on top.  His school does not allow any homemade food due to allergies, so everything must be store bought.  The kids sang Happy Birthday to Connor, although it wasn't his birthday.... there isn't a Big Brother song to sing.  He had brought a card with some pictures of his new brother to school earlier in the week to show everyone.  Connor had a blast.
