ENT specialist

Connor recently started complaining of ringing in his right ear.  He says it comes and goes throughout the day.  I took him to our pediatrician for an exam and they found some fluid in his inner ear.  So, he took some antibiotics for 10 days (although it wasn't an ear infection the antibiotics sometimes help to clear up the fluid) and used a nasal steroid for 14 days.  After the treatment he still had ringing so we returned to the pediatricians office.  The fluid was almost completely gone and they couldn't find any reason for the ringing... so, we went to the Ear, Nose and Throat specialist for an exam.  They did a full hearing test and exam and determined that the cause of the ringing is due to Connor having several cold viruses this winter and building up pressure and fluid in the ear, which never got a chance to heal.  There is no treatment other than time.  So, we're suppose to wait 3 months (it takes a while for the ear to heal) and then return to make sure everything is healed and his hearing is still perfect.  Connor did a great job with his exam and followed the directions perfectly.  He's the perfect patient!
