Newport aquarium

Wednesday morning we went to the Newport Aquarium after breakfast.  But not before his new girlfriend, Ivy found him.  We met Ivy, who is from Seattle and on vacation with her grandparents at the hotel pool last night.  C introduced himself to Ivy by saying "Hi, I'm Buzz Lightyear."  Ivy is the 3rd girlfriend C has had on this trip.  Geez what a lady's man!  He first fell for a young mom at the splash pad, then he fell for Paige (our friends 7 year old) and now his newest love is Ivy, another 7 year old.  Ivy was also headed for the aquarium.

It was shark week at the aquarium.

more fun on the beach

After a sea food dinner (and hot dog for C) on the beach it was back to the hotel for desert... chocolate pudding cups.

Followed by more swimming.  C kept an eye out for Ivy, but they left Newport after the aquarium.

We ended the day with popcorn and a cartoon in bed

Newport beach

Tuesday we hit the road for the Newport, Oregon beach.

C burying my legs in the sand.  J is in the background washing the sand off his legs with the freezing cold ocean water.

J found a crab on the beach
After the beach we checked out the dock
a fishing boat that was unloading at the dock kept throwing fish to this sea lion to keep him around so we could check him out.  C named him Bob.

We enjoyed a sea food dinner at Moe's, with a view of the docks.  Well, J and I enjoyed sea food anyway.  Our non-sea food loving son enjoyed mac-n-cheese instead.
Then it was back to the hotel to enjoy an ice cream desert and go swimming

Kelso fair and splash pad

Sunday we checked out the Longview/Kelso fair.  The 4H animals are always fun to visit.

We don't touch any of the animals unless the owners give permission and  tell us they are friendly.
C trying Justin's helmet on for size... Justin's bike is just a wee bit bigger than C's.
C decided to work on reaching the petals on his bike before he conquers Justin's motorcycle.
Playing at the playground near Aunt Sue's house

Sunday evening Grandma and Grandpa came over to Aunt Sue's house for dinner and domino's
Monday we met Aunt Sue at her office.  She works for Head Start.  After the introductions C got to play on the playground equipment.  Then we took Sue out to lunch.

After lunch we stopped at a splash pad for some wet fun
Monday evening we visited our friends, Jason and Sherry.  C had a blast playing with their girls.  They have 4 girls.  The youngest is Paige, who is 7.  The two of them were inseparable!
