Well sort of... the Trantum,s found this amazing spot on the Spokane river, where you can jump off a huge rock mound into the river. And the best part of all is that it's hidden, so only a few people know about this spot!

we set up a picnic spot for lunch before diving into the water. I packed the picnic lunch, plenty of ice cold waters, the water gear, sun block, snacks... Jason's job was to grab some towels. Ya, the towels made it from the linen closet upstairs to the chair down stairs. They never made it into the car. Lucky for us the Trantum's brought extra towel. Which for some odd reason this exact location in the river has warmer water. I don't understand how a river can be warm, but in this spot it is... well, it's still chilly, but WAY warmer than the rest of the river! Plus it was a hot day, so the water felt refreshing. We really didn't even need towels. After you jumped in the water, climbed out onto the rocks you were literally dry within 10-15 minutes.
Zach spent the majority of his time swimming around snorkeling. We spent hours there and Zack jumped in within minutes of arriving and I don't know if he ever got out of the water until we left. This kid is seriously part fish!

Connor had no interest in jumping in the river. He was much more interested in finding shiny rocks on the shore instead.

We had a great day at the river with the Trantum's and Randy!
The following evening we had a wind storm rip through with 60 mph wind gusts! I don't know that I have ever seen wind gusts this strong before! It's hard to see in the picture, but to the right you can see where our beautiful Japanese maple tree has been blown over and is horizontal. On the left you can see where our basketball hoop was blown over. Unfortunately this is not the first time our hoop has been blown down by winds. The backboard was already broken and Jason attempted to fix it. This time however the main pole bent. Above the garage you can see a piece of vinyl siding missing. We found piece of it shattered down the street. In the backyard we had a side of our shed get pushed in from the wind gusts. Luckily we were able to fix that though. Our little town got hit harder than Spokane.. probably because we sit at a higher elevation and our development is not sheltered by large tree's since it was farm land only 7 years ago.
