Kaiden is on the move

moving, moving, moving

This little guy never stops moving!  He was like that in the womb too.  Always kicking his feet and moving around.  Now that he's crawling he's unstoppable.  He's also pulling himself up on everything he can get his hands on.  Won't be long and I'll be running to keep up with him.  He's pretty clever too.  He's figured out that he can put toys in his mouth to free up his hands for crawling.  He sure keeps us laughing.  He loves music and will stop and dance (usually while sitting he rocks himself back and forth to the music).  I started reading him books before nap/bed.  His favorite book is Winnie the Pooh.  He will sit and flip through the pages himself too.

For Valentines Connor got a Lego set that makes a dragon, snake and scorpion.  He's never really been into Lego's before now, but he loves this building kit.  He's constantly taking his creation apart and building one of the other creatures now.  Below is a picture of his dragon... he doesn't look thrilled because he was busy playing when I asked him to stop and pose for a picture.   Kaiden entertaining himself with one of his books.  We close all 4 doors off our livingroom and this makes a perfect little play area on the wood floor.  Kaiden can bounce his light up ball and it won't go too far.  It works great for his cars too.  Kaiden has an obsession with the stack rings shown below.  It doesn't matter how many times I stack those a day.. the minute Kaiden notices that they are stacked he becomes obsessed with removing and tossing each ring.  I make it a game and stack them and hide them somewhere to see how long it takes for him to notice them... and then how determined he is to reach the rings and toss them off.  He bulldozes over piles of toys to reach them.  His obsession to remove the rings has been going on since Christmas!  Below Connor was trying to stack them up, but Kaiden saw the stack before he finished and set off to tear them apart.   Jason was in Dallas Monday-Wednesday of this week for work.

basketball

Connor loves basketball!
He's really good at defense and blocking his opponent.  He's also improving on his dribbling skills and offense!  He's great at passing the ball to his teammates (something his team is lacking in) and getting more confident in shooting the ball.  His team is called the "Ninja Turtles."  Two of the mom's are coaching the team, both mom's are named Brandy.  Thumbs up!  Great job Connor!!  Kaiden loves to watch his brother play and Connor loves to come give him hugs during water breaks.  We got our first big scare with Kaiden today.  Jason was in his room changing his clothes on the changing table and Kaiden knocked his light/music player off the dresser onto the floor.  Jason leaned over to pick it up and made the mistake of not keeping a hand on Kaiden... Kaiden rolled off his changing mat and fell to the floor.  Scared us both.  Jason thinks he landed flat on his back and he didn't have any marks on his head or body.  His cry sounded more like he was scared than hurt.

Kaiden's first hair cut

Kaiden's hair was driving me nuts hanging over his ears and combed over like a toupee.  I cut it myself, which took a while since he's an active 9 month old who doesn't like to sit still for long.   My handsome little man with his new clean cut! I finally finished the silhouette pictures I made of Kaiden.  The silhouette is from when he was 3 months old and the balloons are signatures and notes from everyone who visited him in the hospital when he was born.

Super Bowl

Super Bowl Sunday!
Kaiden playing with his little car.  Me, Connor and Kaiden all had our Seahawk shirts on.  Ironically, Jason is the only one in our family who doesn't own a Seahawk shirt... he's also the biggest fan in our house.  Kaiden has recently started sticking out his tongue when he's having fun.  He's also started pulling himself up on things.   Greg and Johanna Wallweber came over to watch the Super Bowl game with us. Jason and Connor went shopping before the Super Bowl to get pizza's and they picked up a whoopee cushion, which they tricked me into sitting on.  Then Connor had fun with the whoopee cushion when Greg arrived too.  In fact they had so much fun that Greg blew out the whoopee cushion!  Johanna bought him an even better whoopee cushion that inflates itself.
