Sea World, part 1

For Spring break we flew to San Diego for the entire week of fun!  I worked the weekend, so we left at noon Monday.  Kaiden sat on my lap for the flight.  He napped on the flight from Spokane to Denver while Connor watched the Robots movie on the ipad.  We had a short lay over in Denver.  Grabbed some lunch at the airport.  Then we were off to San Diego.  Connor watched the Shrek movie on the ipad while I entertained Kaiden... who mainly wanted to rearrange the flight magazines/pamphlets.  Jason and I also got a chance to watch a little bit of the Hall Pass movie on the other ipad while the boys played.  On the way off the plane Connor told the pilot "I like your plane. Thanks for getting us to San Diego safely."  The pilot had a big smile and laughed.  We packed 3 backpacks (1 with gadgets/ipads, 1 as a diaper bag with snacks, 1 with toys/stuffed animals), a bag,  medium suite case and a large suite case with clothes/shoes, Kaiden's car seat, Connor's booster seat and the stroller.  We carried the 3 backpacks and bag on board.  They checked the car seats, stroller and medium bag for free.  We only had to pay to check the large suite case.  Once we got to San Diego we picked up our rental car, stopped at Walmart and a grocery store to buy a cooler and some food... then we checked into our hotel and were in bed by midnight. Our hotel room wasn't real big, but Jason and I had a king size bed, the couch folded out into a full size bed for Connor and between the two we set up the hotel play pen for Kaiden's bed.  We put one of the super thick couch cushions in the bottom of the play pen, so Kaiden had a nice soft bed too.  We were on the 3rd floor, room 404.  Our window looked out on the outdoor pool.

We slept in, grabbed some breakfast in the hotel lobby and then we were off...
Day 2 of vacation: Sea World 10:00-4:30
The weather was wonderful. We started with jackets in the early morning, but it warmed up.  Every day was between 68-72 with beautiful clear sky's (except 1 day of rain and 1 roasting hot day).  We loved Sea World!  Kaiden took about a 45-60 minute nap in the stroller.  We found a nice shady spot in a garden area and while he napped we enjoyed an ice cream treat and sat down for 15 minutes to rest too before venturing on.  We did a lot of walking!  Kaiden rode in the stroller half the time and ran around half the time.  He skinned up both knees falling.  We had to put bandaids on both knees to protect them from any further damage.  We kept telling him to WALK, but it's hard when your super excited and feel like you need to run full speed.  He finally started listening though and when we would tell him to walk he would instantly stop running, put his hands behind his back and walk.  I was hoping to get a picture of him with his hands behind his back since it looked so cute, but I don't think I ever caught one.  Connor's favorite part of Sea World was touching the creatures in the Explorer's Reef, the shark tunnel and the Sea Lion/otter show.  Kaiden loved the fish.  We couldn't get him to touch anything in the Explorer Reef though.  At the end of the day Connor got to pick anything he wanted from the gift shop.  He chose a stuffed sea turtle.  I walked around the store with Kaiden trying to find a toy/animal for him too, but he wasn't interested in anything but his bunny.  Connor's favorite creature to touch- a Horseshoe Crab.  He also touched fish, sting rays, bamboo sharks, epaulette sharks and a conch.

Easter

My big-little guy!  Kaiden loves to color and do crafts.  He's very independent and likes to "do things himself!" He's also a great little helper.  He loves to clean.  As soon as he's done eating he wants a wet wipe so he can clean up his tray (before I wash it) and he wants the hand vacuum we keep next to his chair to vacuum up the crumbs under his chair.  We shorten the swiffer handle and he sweeps the wood floors.  He knows where things go and likes to put them in their places.... even if we don't.  He knows which doors we tend to keep closed and if he notices they are open he will close them.  He can be a little OCD when it comes to cleaning and keeping things in order, but that's okay with us!  His speech is getting better every day, but most words are still garbled at this age.  My favorite things that he says are:
"ray go" (ready set go) followed by him racing across the room
"where go" (where did it go) and he hides something and then
"here is" (here it is) as he uncovers what he was hiding
"hey hey hey" when he wants our attention he taps our arm/leg or tugs on us and says hey, hey, hey until we pay attention to what he's showing us.
"peas" (please) along with the sign for please, which we assume he learned from daycare
"ank you" (thank you)
and my altime favorite... "Jay!" (Jason).  Yes, he calls dad Jay.  Not dad, not daddy, not dada... Jay!  LOL

The boys got a joint Easter basket this year.  I figured that way they could share the treasures and couldn't fight over whose toys they were... instant fill water balloons, plastic sea creatures, 18 Bakugons, Pez, candy...

Connor loves the transformer Bakugon's.

Medical Lake Easter Egg Hunt at Water Front Park.  Connor was mad he didn't find a golden egg this year.  You turn the golden eggs in for prizes.  Kaiden had fun hunting for eggs too.

After our Easter Egg Hunt we went home for lunch, Kaiden went down for his nap, our neighbor Payton came over to babysit and we took the 4-wheelers to the ATV park.  We took Jason and Connor's ATV's to ride.  The idea was that I was going to ride on the back of Jason's.  Once we got there Connor wanted to ride on the back of Jason's though, so I ended up riding Connor's for half the time.  Then we swapped around and we all rode both.  We all got a little bit muddy, but I was covered the most.  Connor wanted me to ride behind him on his ATV and he likes to drive through the puddles.

Easter dinner: steak and lobster!  Yum!  Both boys love lobster!!  Then it was hair cut time for all 3 boys before bath time.

Bath

Worst bath ever!
These poor kids have had a nasty cold this week.  Kaiden got it the worst.  Connor had a cough, headache and runny nose.  He's over it though.  Kaiden had a fever of 103, runny nose, nasty cough and now diarrhea.  Jason was also sick earlier in the week, but he's over it now.  I'm the only survivor in our household not to catch this cold.  The boys have had 3 colds since January.  Anyway, the last 2 days Kaiden had diarrhea.  He woke up to an icky diaper and had another icky diaper before breakfast.  So, I decided after breakfast to throw the boys in a bath.  I added some Vick's bubbles to the bath to help Kaiden's sinuses.  I snapped the photos below while they played... 5 minutes later Kaiden pooped in the tub.  Since he has diarrhea it was liquid.  I quickly drained the tub,  washed the boys and tub, and refilled the bath with fresh water and bubbles.  2 minutes into the new bath Kaiden starts to laugh and has explosive diarrhea that literally hits the back of the tub and splatters.  Poor Connor was laying in the tub so his lower legs were casualties.  Connor jumps up and is disgusted, but doesn't freak out.  He starts cleaning his legs off.  I drain the tub again, wash Kaiden's body and as quickly as possible get him out of the tub and into a diaper.  Scrub the tub again and help Connor clean his legs... refill the tub again so Connor can finally enjoy a bath... ALONE this time!  The funny thing was just before Kaiden exploded and right after he got this silly smirk on his face and started laughing.

Above was just before the first accident... bottom is Connor finally getting a clean bath by himself.  Thumbs down to a bath with Kaiden!!
