Day 5: San Diego Zoo 10-5
Connor woke up with 4 episodes of diarrhea, but he said he felt better. After breakfast we stopped at Walgreen's and I asked the pharmacist what he thought about giving Connor Children's Imodium or if he had any better ideas. He agreed that Imodium would be a great idea. So, I purchased some Imodium and Gatorade. Gave Connor a dose and encouraged him to sip on the Gatorade and we were off to the zoo for a second try. The Imodium completely stopped his stomach cramps and he only had 1 small episode of diarrhea at the zoo (which he received a second dose of Imodium for) and then the diarrhea was gone! Within a very short period he felt great! We always bring snacks with us everywhere and Connor got to snack throughout the day and sip on his Gatorade. His body was still exhausted from days of being sick, so he took turns with Kaiden riding in the stroller. But from this point forward in our vacation Connor was "mostly" back to feeling normal (with just the exception of being a little tired). The weather was beautiful from this point forward in our vacation as well. At least if Connor had to be sick he picked the perfect days to do it! The only 2 days that he was really feeling crummy (puking, diarrhea) was when it was miserably hot outside and pouring down rain! You planned it well Connor!! Connor's favorite part- the rhino's, Kaiden's- the long neck antelope (Gerenuk), mine- monkey's, elephants, giraffes. In the gift shop Connor chose a big stuffed Rhino for his keepsake, Kaiden chose a blue snake. Extinct Daggett's Eagle (actual size).
