Halloween

Every year our family dresses up together for Halloween.  Usually Connor picks the theme.  This year I expected Connor and Kaiden would pick different things to dress as and we wouldn't have a family theme anymore, but to my surprise Connor said it was Kaiden's turn to pick a theme and he would dress up in whatever Kaiden chose.  Connor is seriously the sweetest, most kind hearted, loving kid ever!  Kaiden decided on Ninjas.  So, this year we were a family of Ninjas.  Kaiden chose the standard black ninja costume with red details and tons of throwing stars and swords.  Connor decided on a gold ninja costume, which is exactly like his Lloyd Lego character that he loves.  I found 2 ninja costumes for Jason and I, but then realized it basically the same as dressing in black sweats and wearing a ski mask... so I saved the money and made our costumes.  The boys were happy.  They loved our ninja family Halloween.  I attempted to put a mask on Piper, but she wasn't having any of it.  We got lucky this year and the weather was fantastic!  In fact we didn't even have to wear jackets.  We had a layer of clothing under our costumes and that was all we needed.  There was no wind and it felt great.  We did way more trick-or-treating than we normally do.

I went to the boys school to volunteer to help with their parties.  I ended up spending almost all my time helping in Kaiden's class though.  There were only a few parents helping in his kindergarten class, but a ton of parents in Connor's 5th grade class.  The kids always dress up and parade through the school to show off their costumes.  Then they have a party with candy and snacks in their classrooms.
After school we came home and decorated our pumpkins.  We just got them, but they sat outside for the last couple days and have already started turning soft.  So, we weren't able to carve them like we expected.. so instead we decorated them with our plastic pumpkin kit.

bottom braces and bite plate

Connor was not excited about getting his bottom braces and bite plate on.  Afterwards I bought him a protein shake which helped a little with the pain.  For the next week I had to take him a frozen protein shake to school every day since his teeth hurt so bad he couldn't eat.  I also had to numb his mouth a few times.
