school pictures

the boys are both still on-line for school.  I work with Kaiden on See Saw.  His laptop and supplies are set up on the end of our formal dinning room.  Connor works on Grad Point on his mac computer in his room.  Since it looks like they might be on-line for the entire school year I decided to take my own school pictures.  Kaiden 1st grade.  Connor 6th grade.  I pick their clothes out for picture day every year, but the rest of the year they choose whatever they want to wear. I picked this gray shirt with bright yellow for Connor because his favorite color is still "bright colors." Technically bright orange is still his favorite color and I have bought him a ton of orange shirts, but he wore an orange shirt for pictures last year so I wanted something other than orange this year. I actually had a gray and red pull over shirt picked for Kaiden, but he said it wasn't "fancy enough" and HE chose this button up shirt with a sweater over the top.  He's a far better dresser than I am.

Below is Kaiden modeling. Goofy kid. Then a picture of me and my boys.  The bottom picture Kaiden insisted on taking. He's so independent and likes to do everything on his own. He wanted to take some pictures with my camera too, so he did. Dang, I think he might be a better photographer than I am!

Memory Lane

Kaiden has at least 4 loose teeth right now.  He finally got tired of his top tooth hurting, so he just pulled it out.

Memory Lane. I have been going through a bunch of storage boxes. We've been talking about possibly moving this next summer so, I'm trying to thin things out.  Below are some special items my grandma Kortus made for me when I was little.  She made the red, gray and brown bears below, along with the clothing. Then there is a picture of my Brownies uniform (before girl scouts) and the sash and badges. The red dress, 2 pink poncho's and the blue jacket were all made by my grandma and things I wore as a little girl.  The jean hat Kaiden is wearing was one of my favorites. My grandma made that out of old jeans. I wore it quiet a bit.  The doll he's holding was my favorite Cabbage Patch doll.  The signed shirt was from my High School All-nighter.  The boys and I had fun looking through and talking about all these treasures.  My Cabbage Patch doll has become Kaiden's baby and now sleeps on his bed with him.

ORV

We took Kaiden's quad to Riverside State OVR park to ride around.  He rode for 2 hours!  He loves that 4-wheeler.  Connor took a few laps on it and they rode together too.  Piper watched from the side lines with me and Jason.  I cut Piper's hair yesterday and she looks like a cute little puppy again.

Halloween

Quarantine Halloween. We didn't put out our usual Halloween decorations and scare crow this year. We decided since the Covid19 numbers are on the rise again to skip trick-or-treating. The boys don't really care to trick-or-treat anyway. Instead we each wore our Harry Potter hat that represents each of the Hogwarts houses. The boys each had a cape and wand. I made 4 recipes from their Harry Potter cook book and we watched some Harry Potter movies (inbetween Jason's UFC fights).  The boys also played with Raheem, Landry, Isaiah and Declan during the day.  All in all it was a fun Halloween!

Our Harry Potter dinner (that the boys picked out): Queen Elizabeth's cream soup, rosemary and garlic potatoes, roast beef, green beans and cooked carrots and onions.  Desert was chocolate bottom pumpkin tarts.

first snow fall

October 25, first snow fall. The boys and Piper had fun playing in the snow.  I made some Christmas decorations inside.  Kaiden's top front tooth is super loose... we might have a  jack-o-lantern this year.
