new kicks

We completed Connor's back to school wardrobe with a new pair of shoes.  I love his new Ralph Lauren Polo shoes.  For fun we decided to try them on Kaiden, which Connor thought was just hilarious.

One shoe was just a little bit tight on Connor's foot, so being a nice mommy I crammed my foot in his shoe to stretch it out for him.  Sadly his shoes can almost fit me too!

Kaiden is a drooler!  We have to keep a bib on him all the time.  Anything he can get his hands on goes into his mouth.
tummy time!  He had his 4 month check up today.  He's 24 inches long, 12.14 pounds. 40.5 cm head circumference.  He received 4 shots today.
He's mad in this picture, but it shows him using his strong legs to push himself forward.

boating

We took the boat out on Silver lake today.  This was Kaiden's second time out on the boat (my third).  Jason and Connor fished for a little bit.  Connor caught 5 fish.  Jason zero.  So far we have released all the fish Connor has caught though... maybe next year we can catch some bigger fish and actually keep some for dinner.  We hit the water at 11:00 and had the lake to ourselves... other than a few other fishing boats.  Kaiden did great again.  He took about an hour nap.  We only stayed out for about 2 hours though.  The lake starts filling with boat pulling tubers and jet ski's around 1:00, so that's when we exit the water.

Fish Slayer (Connor) catching some crappie (sun fish).

Kaiden taking a nap.  I had to rig up some shade for his nap since the boat was anchored, but we still had a little bit of sun peaking in.  The umbrella is stuck in place and the handle is barely touching his life vest... not enough for him to even notice.  I sat next to him the entire time to make sure he was completely shaded at all times.. other than the 2 seconds it took for me to snap these pictures.

daycare

I had to redo our hand print picture to add Kaiden's.  Red is Jason, Orange is mine (Krista), Yellow is both boys.  Kaiden is on the left (1 month of age), Connor is on the right (1 month of age).  I love the pinky fingers together.  Shows that their fingers are about the same length, but Kaiden's hand (and everything about Kaiden) is just chunkier than Connor was.  On a side note the hands are suppose to resemble a flame.

Moose!  We call Kaiden Moose because of his stocky size or Moose drool because he's always drooling (and that's Jason's favorite beer "Moose Drool")  His newest nickname that Jason calls him though is Home Slice.  I have no idea where he came up with that name.
Today was Kaiden's first day at daycare.  I return to nursing school for my last semester in a week and since he's spent just about every day since birth glued to my side I thought it might be a good idea to do a trial run before he's in daycare all day long.  So, today he was there for 3 hours.  After Connor and I dropped him off at daycare we ran a few errands... post office, grocery shopping and then lunch (and playing) at McDonald's.  Connor kept telling me he missed his little brother.  I felt a little bit lost without him too.  After 3 hours I got a phone call from the daycare that he wouldn't drink from the bottle.  Cheyenne had tried for 45 minutes and he kept pushing the bottle away and trying to nurse.  Hmm...  I've been cutting back on nursing him from 9:00-4:00 and only giving him a bottle with formula during that time in hopes of prepping him (and my body) for next week when I start school.  But I just started doing that this week.  Prior to that he was 95% breast fed... with only the occasional formula bottle when I didn't have any pumped milk when we were in public.  Other than not wanting to drink formula he did great though.  Each baby has their own crib/play pen to sleep in and he slept for 2 hours.  He was the only baby there today though... so, he got 100% of the attention.  This won't always be the case, since there will be 7 babies there in September.

Swimming

Day 4 of swim lessons.  They started the lesson in the lap pool.  Connor didn't like this very much because the water isn't as warm as the swim instruction pool.  Lucky for him they were only in the lap pool for the first few minutes before they moved to the warmer pool for lessons.

Mr. Smiley was actually awake for this lesson.  He normally falls asleep in the car ride and I load his car seat onto the stroller and he snoozes during the swim lesson.

After swim lessons I stopped at the Discovery park with the boys.  They added some new play ground equipment.

Day 3 of Polliwog swim lessons

Connor loves his swim lessons.  And we really like the swim instructor too.  He's really nice and patient with the kids.

rolling

Kaiden rolled over for the first time from his tummy to his back this morning!  Kaiden was laying on his blanket on the floor, while both boys watched the Curious George cartoon and I laid next to Kaiden and watched him.  Just seconds before I told Connor to watch Kaiden because it looked like he would roll over any time... and he did!  He only did it once though and I couldn't get him to repeat it once I grabbed my camera.

Kaiden loves the baby jumperoo.  He's still a little short for it though, so I had to use some of my nursing books under his feet.

Day 2 of swim lessons!
