Camping

We did more hiking and exploring the beach today.  Paul, Stephanie and Mochi joined us after lunch.  Piper and Mochi had fun playing together.  They spent the night with us in the RV.  The boys slept on the dinette bed together for the first time.  Paul and Stephanie slept on the hide-a-bed.

Spring Canyon Campground

First camping trip of the year.  We decided to try a new spot.
Spring Canyon Campground, on the shoreline of Lake Roosevelt, is perfect for those who enjoy being on the water. The 130-mile long lake is a feature of the Columbia River created by the Grand Coulee Dam. The lake is named after President Franklin D. Roosevelt and is a part of the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area, managed by the National Park Service.
The boys love traveling in the RV.. watching a movie while buckled into the couch.  Of course Kaiden always falls asleep 15 minutes into the drive.  Piper even has her own spot and relaxes for a nap on the drive.  Jason has mastered driving the RV.  He's really good.  I guess I'll get my chance to drive it this summer on our 2.5 week RV trip.   We love this new campground!  We did lots of hiking and walking on the beach.  Friday night it was overcast, cloudy and rained.  The rest of the weekend was gorgeous though!  Warm, sunny and beautiful out.  We love having an RV.  No more hustle with setting up camp or tearing down the camp site.  Set up takes literally like 10 minutes now.  Push a button for the slide out, pull the awning down, lower the jacks and set up a few camping chairs.  Done!  We have separate heat controls for the bedroom and living area to make it nice and cozy.  Air conditioning.  2 sky lights with vents, tons of windows and all the comforts of home: 2 TV's, DVD, microwave, stove, oven, fridge, freezer, full bathroom with shower and tub... this RV life rocks!  No more sleeping on air mattresses or dirt... we have a queen size bed, hide-a-bed with a queen, dinette with a twin.  We ended the night with a board game and then Jason let Piper sleep with the boys on their bed for the first time.  Normally she's not allowed on the furniture.  He's apparently changed the rules (typical Jason) and now she's allowed on the boys bed in the RV.  She was very excited about this.  Piper does great camping.  We can take her off leash and let her run.  She's pretty good about staying close to us, but if she does wonder off too far (usually if she's chasing/hunting a seed pod that's floating in the air or a butterfly) we just have to say "Piper come" and she stops and immediately comes to our side.  She's turned into a great dog!

I see 3 little boys taking a potty break....
