backyard update

 Connor finally took the sign he got for Rachel in Banff over to her... along with some fresh chocolate chip cookies.  They also took Piper for a walk around the lake.

more progress on the backyard...  we have the walls up in the 4th car garage (aka Jason's shop) and the patio is prepped for the cement to be poured.  Jason had to remove some of the siding for the new shop and decided to remove the back portion of siding and remove the 4 large livingroom windows. He put up new plywood, calk, window wrap and house wrap around them. We've had problems with one of the windows leaking in the past because they didn't calk and wrap the windows the way your suppose to.  But now they are fixed! The boys and I helped him too. Kaiden helped to dig a drain for the new sink Jason plans to install in the shop. We moved some of the sprinklers. And I worked on removing some of the grass from the fire pit area.

Hawk Creek Camping

 We brought Mason with us camping. Hawk Creek used to be one of our favorite camping sites. They don't have any hook ups so, you have to dry camp.  But there is a beautiful waterfall, dock to fish and swim off, water is shallow and it's perfect for kayaking.  But this is the second time we have come camping and the water was really low... making the shoreline muddy and gross.  The second day we were there Jason decided to drive back home (it's only an hour from our house) and get the boat so we could boat down Lake Rosevelt to a beachy area where we could set up camp for the day.  The boys had fun- Kaiden and Mason played with army men (Mason is Connor's best friend, but he is so good at playing and including Kaiden). Connor made time to read his book every day. This kid is an avid reader! Loves his books. They found baby toads and crawdads. Piper was very curious about the crawdads. Kayaked. Played in the sand. Had fun with the sea scooter. Went tubing. We arrived Friday and were scheduled to leave Tuesday, but it rained Monday morning. The boys spent the morning watching movies, then after the rain the boys went for one last kayak trip and then we decided to go home.
