Pacific Lake Camping

I think this is the 4th Spring break we've spent camping at Pacific Lake. It works out good since it's only 2 hours from our house and we're usually the only one camping there since it's still a bit chilly out. The boys get to shoot their BB guns, go for hikes, roast marsh mellows and Piper loves to run around and explore. This year 5 minutes after we let Piper outside of the RV she managed to find a dead baby porcupine and get quills stuck in her tush. We think she was trying to pee on the corps to mark her scent. Luckily the quills were not very big and not in deep. Also, there were no ticks this year! I treat Piper for ticks before we go every year, but there have been previous years where we still had to pick ticks off her. We only brought 3 ATV's with us this year. Connor and I were actually going to skip this camping trip and stay home, but Jason talked us into going. Jason and Kaiden went on several 4-wheeler rides, while Connor and I hung back at the RV to read. Connor was really into his book and I'm working on reading the bible all the way through.  This was a short camping trip Saturday - Monday d/t scheduled rain all day Monday and Tuesday.

Game Nights

 We had the Giles over for a game night and then the following night we went to Paul and Stephani's house for another game night.

St. Patties and ATV riding

 Jason went out to dinner with some colleagues for St. Patties day.  I thought I would make it fun for me and the boys. I made corned beef hash with a fried egg on top and Rueben sandwiches. To my surprise both boys actually loved it! Connor actually asked if I would make the Rueben's again and Kaiden wants the hash again. Connor is finally done with his Invisalign too! Jason and I took Kaiden and Alex to the 4-wheeler track near our house for some riding. This was Kaiden's first time riding the bigger red ATV and he loved it.  Alex was a little nervous about riding the red one, but he loves to ride the smaller blue ATV. A farmer that owns some land behind our development made this little race track for the kids to ride ATV's on.

Silver Mountain Resort

 We booked a condo at Silver Mountain Ski Resort for 2 days of relaxing at the Silver Rapids indoor water park and a day of skiing the slopes. Paul met us there on Friday for a day of skiing. Kaiden tried the Flow Rider surfing, jungle gym area, we all enjoyed the lazy river and 3 water slides and of course hot tubs. We took some pizza to go and headed back to our room after the first night of fun at the water park and watched some movies. After skiing all day Friday we hit the water park for a few more hours of relaxing before heading back home... but first we stopped off at Texas Road House for some amazing steak and shrimp dinner.
