Mother's Day

We went out to breakfast with my family for Mother's Day.

From the back right around the table: my mother Donna, myself, Connor, Asia (Alivia's friend),  Madison, Jason, Alivia, Laura, Ryan, John and my dad Jon.
The two cutest little boys in the world!  Connor and Ryan
My parents.  Happy Mother's Day mom!
After breakfast we went back to my brothers house to visit for a bit.  My brother, John and my father, Jon.
The boys got some more time to play together.  We don't get to see them nearly as often as we would like during the school year.  It's difficult to find the time between all our schedules.
Ryan showed Connor his new trick on the trampoline.  Alivia taught him to jump up and down a few times and then kick his legs straight out in front of him and bounce once on his butt and then return to jumping.  He was so proud of his new trick.

My boys got me a card and plant for Mother's Day.  Thank you boys!

Bloomsday 2012

Jason's ran Bloomsday for the last 3 years, but decided to walk it with Connor and I this year.  This was Connor's first Bloomsday.

In Bloomsday tradition, at the start of the race everyone threw their sweat shirt in the trees.

 The starting line
This is how Connor traveled for most of the race... kicked back relaxing with his feet up.  Jason and I took turns pushing him.
Half way through the race we saw Spiderman, who was more eager to meet Connor than Connor was to meet Spiderman.  People in costumes are always more fun from a distance.  He's not fond of being up close and personal with strangers in huge costumes.  Notice the death grip on dad's shirt.
Towards the end of the race Connor did decide to finally get out of the stroller and help push it for a while.
He even walked a little bit with me
and then ran the last little bit to cross the finish line with Jason
We all have matching 2012 Bloomsday shirts now.
We had a great time.  The weather was perfect.  I actually got sun burnt.  This was the first Bloomsday that Jason's walked and he twisted his ankle.  Who gets hurt walking?  Although he wasn't thrilled with the idea of walking the entire race, so his plan next year is to run the race and then join us afterwards for the walk.

Max's Birthday Party!

Our next door neighbors have a grandson who is 3 months older than Connor.  So, Connor and Max have been friends since almost birth.  We went to Max's 4th Birthday Party.

Jesse, Sawyer, Max and Connor.  The kids had so much fun playing with the party blowers.  Who knew a party blower could be so entertaining.
 Max's new little brother, Maddox.
present time.  All the kids had fun checking out his new loot
 Connor chatting up the girls
Max's grandma (who is visiting from China) with Maddox
Max got a fun bounce castle for his birthday.
 Happy Birthday Max!
Max with his parents (Wei Wei and Travis)
Time to load up on sugar and go back to jumping on the bounce castle and running around their new house.
We had a great time visiting and playing... so much fun in fact that my son who refuses to sleep in the car was out before we knew it.  We look forward to spending more time with Max and Maddox this summer.

River Front Park with Kevin

We brought Connor's bike to River Front Park for a change of scenery...

and to feed the ducks, which are so social they eat right out of your hand

And no trip to River Front Park would be complete without a ride on the carousel
and a few trips down the big Red Wagon slide

Jason's friend, Kevin met us at the park.  Connor convinced him to take a few trips down the slide too.

Then it was time for some real rides...

The balloon guy was in the park.  He's there most days, usually dressed in a clown suite, but today he was a pirate.

After a fun morning at the park, Connor used Kevin and Jason's arms to swing from on the way to the Olive Garden for lunch.

Easter

I had a nursing appointment Saturday morning, so I missed our local Easter egg hunt at the park.  Jason and Connor had fun though and found a bunch of eggs.  Of course since I wasn't there, that means I have no pictures to share.

 My little Easter bunny
Since I missed out on the Easter Egg hunt... Connor and I went to the Eastern Washington University's Easter Egg celebration.   Connor was thrilled they had two huge blow up bounce castles with obstacles.
They even had an Easter Bunny there to greet the kids

After an hour of jumping and running through the bounce castles, a visit with the Easter Bunny, playing with some of his friends from school that were also there and a mini chocolate cupcake we decided it was time to head home for a nap.  Can you tell from Connor's pouty face that he wasn't thrilled about leaving.

The traditional dying of the Easter eggs
Connor found this Easter basket waiting for him bright and early Easter morning.
wondering down stairs to see his basket... with his favorite stuffed doggy from Aunt Staci and Uncle Tony.  He uses this puppy as a pillow every night and insists on carrying it down stairs to cuddle with it on the couch while he wakes up.
checking out all his goodies... 3 new books, a Tag book, 5 pairs of Spiderman socks, chocolate candy, sucker rings...
and at least a dozen plastic eggs filled with candy and money.  I think he had more fun opening all the eggs to see what was inside than anything else.  He was more excited about the coins to put in his piggy bank than the candy or dollar bills.
His prize candy... a 1 pound chocolate bunny!  Wow!
Apparently the lady bugs like our plant in the backyard.  We found it covered with lady bugs.
