Mother's Day

We had a very relaxing Mother's Day this year.  I snuggled in bed with my two boys, while Jason cooked up a tasty breakfast.  When I came down the stairs I was greeted by this beautiful fuchsia plant and Mother's Day card Connor picked out for me.

After breakfast Connor rode his bike to the park

It's hard to tell, but Kaiden is snuggled in the front pack under my jacket

My goofy boys played on the swings... I think Jason is just a big kid!  =)

Kaiden loves the front pack.  He snuggles in all warm and cozy and drifts off to sleep listening to mommy's heartbeat.  He sleeps the entire time he's in the pack... just cozy and content.
Connor is such a big helper.  Here he's holding up a weeks worth of diapers... oh my!
Jason gave Connor a hair cut on the patio today.  We finished our Mother's Day off with Jason BBQ some Malibu chicken for dinner and relaxing on the patio soaking up the sun rays.

Kaiden napped in his car seat next to me in the stands the entire game.
Connor brought home a flower card, picture and button pin for Mother's Day =)

muffins with my super-men

I love these little toes...

and little fingers...

To celebrate Mother's Day Connor's school had "Muffins with Mom" this morning.  I had no idea every mom in his school would be there.  We had to park on the street and I had to carry Kaiden in his car seat.  Next year we'll make sure to be extra early.  Connor got a blueberry muffin with juice and I got a bran muffin.  We enjoyed our muffins with the other 1000 mom's in the cafeteria, while Kaiden napped the entire time.  I'm a very lucky mom to have 2 wonderful super hero's in my life!

"fire power!"

I think Connor and Kaiden look a lot alike... aside from the fact that Connor had lighter and less hair... and Kaiden is chunkier.

Kaiden

while Connor was at school Kaiden and I had a fun little photo shoot...
He had a check up with our pediatrician yesterday (5-7-14 19 days old) he now weighs 7 pounds 6.5 ounces!  That means he's gained 1.3 pounds in under 3 weeks!!  He's 20 inches long and head circumference is 35cm.  He's in the 10-25% range.

Twin's T-ball

I missed Connor's first T-ball game, since it was right after they started and on a windy-rainy day. This was his second game and still a bit chilly.  Kaiden was warm and cozy in the front pack strapped to my chest again.  Connor was warm with a turtle neck, baseball t-shirt, jacket and 2 pairs of pants on.

Connor occasionally lost interest in the game and decided to play in the dirt instead... along with some of the other team members.
He did great hitting the ball though!

giving mom a thumbs up and blowing kisses.  Every time he would come in from out field he would pick up a handful of flowers (there were a bunch of flowering tree's) and bring them over to me and tell me how much he loves me before lining up to bat.  This is seriously the sweetest kid ever!  He even brought a bunch of flowers over for his little brother.

2 weeks old

I love the WSU nursing program and all the instructors.  This semester ironically is my OB and Pediatrics rotation.  My clinical instructors for both OB (Jana Stuckrath) and Ped's (Cory Risse) were fantastic!  Not only were they incredibly knowledgeable and fantastic teachers, but they were both very accommodating too.  I was able to get in extra clinical time prior to Kaiden's birth, so I could complete my clinicals early.  My seminar instructors were amazing as well.  I didn't miss a beat prior to his birth, but my OB seminar instructor (Cecile Oliver) and Ped's seminar instructor ( Sue Perkins) encouraged me to watch the seminar lectures from home (WSU records the lectures, so you can watch them from home) instead of attending class.  They both knew I was breast feeding and knew it would make life easier for me and Kaiden.  Both instructors also allowed me to take quizzes from home (over the phone).  I'm so grateful they were so accommodating.  They also offered to make arrangements for me to take my finals late, but since I was feeling pretty good (I never did take a single pain pill or narcotic... although for day 2-3 I did take Ibuprofen)... I came back to school for my OB final review exactly 1 week after my delivery and then for my family seminar class the following Friday and then that Monday and Tuesday for the finals.  I'm so glad things things worked out so perfect.  Jason took the first week after Kaiden's birth off as vacation, then he worked from home for the next 1 1/2 weeks, which allowed me to attend some classes and my finals.

My incredible Pediatric seminar instructor, Sue Perkins made this adorable and super soft baby blanket for Kaiden.
Kaiden trying out the swing for the first time.  Aunt Staci bought this bouncy/swing combo for Connor.  It took a while for Connor to enjoy it, but Kaiden loves it.  He's still not completely sure about the vibration, but he loves the swing.  I think aside from laying on our chest or being held... the swing is Kaiden's favorite place to be.
Where ever Kaiden is... big brother Connor is not too far away... his protector!
