Spring Break

Connor is on Spring Break this week!  Here are some random pictures of us having fun at home.  Connor wanted to prove that he's just as flexible as Kaiden and he can put his feet in his mouth too. Kaiden just woke up from a nap and the first thing he wanted to do was to snuggle with the new bunny from Grandma.  we brought the larger Lego's upstairs for the boys to play with.  This has been a huge hit for all my boys... I even find Jason playing with these.   I took a bubble bath with the boys.  This was Kaiden's first bubble bath.  You can't tell by the pictures, but he loved it.  He wasn't thrilled when I handed him to Connor to hold for the picture though.  I guess he doesn't have faith that his big brother can manage.  Connor made some jello jigglers and washed the cut out forms when he was done.  Such a good helper!

Easter Egg Hunt

Connor and Kaiden got their Easter baskets before our Medical Lake Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday.  Connor was so excited for his basket, but afterwards he said he was a little bummed that he didn't get any toys.  Jason wanted to get him a new fishing reel instead of a toy.  I also got him a few books, a swim shirt, a dinosaur shirt and his favorite candy (York, Kit Kat and chocolate eggs).  Kaiden got a few books and a thick jacket vest.   For breakfast I made blue, green and pink pancakes in the shape of hearts, eggs, bunnies.... and sausage.  Connor ready for the Easter Egg hunt.  Our park is divided into 4 sections: 0-4, 5-6, 7-8, and 9-12.  I was in the hospital after giving birth to Kaiden last year, so I missed his first year in the 5-6 section.  I was going to take Kaiden to the 0-4 section for him to get some eggs too, but it was breezy and cold the morning of the egg hunt.  Kaiden stayed bundled up nice and cozy in his stroller while Connor kept warm running around collecting eggs.  Usually the kids are limited to 6 eggs, but since it was chilly less kids came out for the hunt this year so they were allowed to fill their baskets.  Connor ended up coming home with 2 dozen eggs!  I had told him before the Easter Egg hunt that they only hide a couple "golden eggs" (which is actually a normal egg wrapped in foil).  The lucky kids who find the golden eggs get to turn them in for prizes.  Connor managed to find one!  He was so excited.  This is the second year he's found a golden egg... the first was when he was really young and found a golden egg by chance, which he turned in for a stuffed puppy dog with pink bunny ears (he still has this on his bed too).  He also found a plastic egg with a coupon for the local pizza place.  The two kids before Connor chose the only stuffed animals.. so, his second choice was this sword.   I was hoping for pictures with the Easter Bunny, but since it was cold we stopped to say Hi and left.  I didn't want to take Kaiden out of his cozy warm stroller just for a picture with the Easter Bunny... he seemed perfectly happy to stay bundled up too.  We were only at the park for a total of 15 minutes!  Kaiden took his nap when we got home, so Connor and I used that time to color some eggs.  I added vinegar to the dye to make the eggs very vibrant and bold.  On the way home from the park we stopped by the grocery store to buy some egg dye and I grabbed Connor a strawberry milk, which he occasionally buys at his school cafeteria and loves.  I tried to get some cute pictures of Kaiden with bunny ears on, but just like hats Kaiden rips them off as fast as I put them on.  Jason escapes almost every night when he gets home to do something to the boat.  He recently bought this cover and attached that.  He also ripped out the old flooring, fiberglass the floor and installed new carpet.  It's definitely an older boat and shows it's age, but it's perfect for our little family.  Especially since it's mainly for Connor and Jason to use fishing.   On Sunday we drove up to my parents house for Easter dinner.  Grandpa was trying to check out Kaiden's chompers.
