Day 6: legoland day 3

Today it was almost empty when we got to Legoland.  We planned on spending most of the day at the water park, but took advantage of no lines for the rides first.  We played for a long time at the water park and drifted around the lazy river 4 times.  Kaiden was still scared of the lazy river after our last encounter, but I put him inside the toddler tube, which he stays completely dry and then I hang on the outside of the tube and walk him around the lazy river.  After the first trip around he realized mom was going to protect him from getting dunked and he liked it again.  Unfortunately I never got the chance to actually sit back and relax on the lazy river though.  Connor really wanted to play some games and win prizes.  We told him he could play a few, but if he wanted to win a prize he needed to pick a game listed as "winner every time" since the other games were almost impossible to win on.  He played a dart game and won a stuffed fish, which he was very happy about.  Connor still loves his stuffed animals.  He named his fish "flame."  We had PB & J sandwiches again for lunch.  We also let the kids pick out souvenirs to take home from the gift shop.  Connor picked a lego creation, which he was dying to build but we said he needed to wait till we got home so he wouldn't loose any of the pieces.  He also picked a water bottle for school, a sun visor, magnet for the fridge.  Kaiden picked a 3-1 lego creation.  Jason picked a picture frame.  Dinner was at Karl Strauss Brewery.  Jason had a turkey sandwich, I had chicken, Connor and Kaiden split a hamburger.  It was good, but not our favorite.  Back at the hotel we swam, went hot tubing, Kaiden played ball with some kids and then I washed all our clothing.

Jason's swollen foot with blisters now from the bee sting...

Day 5: beach

Today we tried to go to Legoland, but the line of cars was backed up forever just to get through the gates... so we did a U-turn and decided it was a beach day instead.  The sand had golden flakes in it.  The water was so warm, like bath water warm.  We walked on the beach, collected shells, played in the water and dug in the sand.  I made the boys wear sandals (Connor hates sandals and refuses to wear them without socks on.  I know strange kid, but he's always had a thing with his feet.  They are very ticklish and he can't stand anything between his toes).  Anyway Jason's sandals were bothering him so he opted to go bare foot and stepped on a bee.  We had more PB & J sandwiches for lunch on the beach, then stopped at Basken Robins for ice cream before heading back to the hotel.  All 3 boys took naps for hours.  For dinner we tried a pizza place.  They had a video game section for the kids, good pizza, beer on tap and a fish tank made by our favorite "Tanked" TV show.  Then we went back to the hotel to relax with TV- we actually watched the Tanked show and enjoyed some hot cocoa.

Day 4: Legoland day 2

breakfast at hotel, walmart for swim diapers, then off to Legoland.  Connor loved the 4D lego movie.  Today we checked out the water park.  Of course I don't have pictures since it's a water park.  We paid for the lockers and hit the water.  Lazy river, play areas, sand areas....  Our first time around the lazy river Connor and Jason both hopped on individual tubes while Kaiden and I settled into a toddler tube (the inside of the tube is filled in so you can't fall through) and almost immediately Jason and Connor decide to have water wars and somehow Jason flips me and Kaiden off our tube.  We both went under water.  Kaiden had a life vest on, but the shock of going under water scared him and he hated the lazy river after that.  We were both not happy about that one Jason.  Today was a little bit chilly too with a slight breeze.  After the water park we did some more rides... until Kaiden crashed out.  He fell asleep on Jason's shoulders.  After Legoland we went to Belching Beaver for dinner.  Jason and I recently discovered we both love the peanut butter ale beer.  I hate beer... probably because Jason loves dark beers.  This is the first beer that I actually like and Jason loves it.  Jason had searched to see who sold the PB ale.  He was hoping to bring some home since it's not sold in Washington.  The beer was good and the food was amazing!  For lunch we packed PB and Jelly sandwiches and granola bars.  Not as tasty as the parks lunches, but way cheaper.
