Piper's Surgery

Piper got spayed.  She was not feeling real hot when we brought her home.  They also got micro chipped and her nails cut.  She spent the evening mainly sleeping, moaning and following me everywhere.  I tried to stay in the living room most of the evening and just hold her.  After dinner I curled up on a pillow and blanket on the floor and she snuggled up next to me.  We all watched a movie and just chilled for the night.  12 hours later she was back to her normal self.  The vet gave her pain pills to take for the next week.  She didn't even act like she needed them, but the vet recommended given them anyway.. so I did.  It was hard to keep her from running and jumping for a week so her incision could heal and she was getting very restless and board being trapped inside.  After a week of house arrest we took her for a walk and she was very excited to be outside running and playing again.  After her walk we stopped at the park for Kaiden to play and for Piper to rest. 
Below is also a picture of Connor having breakfast.  He's such a silly kid.  About every month he finds a new favorite food for breakfast that he gets obsessed with and wants to eat every single morning.  Then a month later he burns out and moves onto something else.  He's currently on french toast.  Every morning he asks me to make him 2-3 pieces of french toast.  Before this it was breakfast burritos (taco meat, eggs, cheese, sour cream in a tortilla shell).  Occasionally I'll buy the huge Costco poppy seed muffins too, which both boys love.  Kaiden rotates his breakfast: oatmeal and cereal tend to be his favorites.  I love my protein waffles with almond butter.  Lately all our free time has been spent working on the RV.  We installed a back up camera, Jason buffed/waxed the outside basement doors, I removed the valances and blinds in the bedroom and installed some drapes, I stocked the kitchen cupboards, removed the wall paper boarder in the kitchen and bath, Jason winterized and modified some of the plumbing, Jason installed a new TV mount in the front, etc.  We look forward to our next RV trip!

Trail blazers

We took the boys to the Cub Scout's Trail blazers again this year.  They have a new director this year and it was not very organized.  They had about half as many stations as last year and instead of each troop spending 30 minutes at each station they decided to have a free range style instead.  So there were 3 groupings of stations and the kids were allowed to just roam within that grouping.  So, if you wanted to spend your entire time at the shooting range you could.  The problem with this idea is that there are too many kids and if you allow the kids to choose which station they want to spend their time at then ALL the kids want to do the same station and there isn't enough room for all of them.  The volunteers quickly figured out this was not a good idea and had to limit the kids.  It was chaotic and less fun than last year, but we still enjoyed it.  Since Kaiden is older this year they allowed him to participate in more of the activities.  They even let him shoot a BB gun for the first time (with Jason's help).  He was pretty excited about that.  Kaiden kept asking all day when he could go ride the BMX bikes, which he was way too small to ride on his own and Jason ended up having to pull him around the course.  We had decided to take the RV camping up by Newport about a mile from the trail blazer camp the night before... so Jason and I had to take turns walking back to the car to let Piper out of her kennel and give her a chance to run around.  We mainly did the BB guns, bow and arrows, sling shots, BMX bikes, play house/ jungle gym area and fire truck.  After lunch we decided to skip the 3rd grouping and head back to our camp site.  The rest of our troop decided to skip as well and head home.

First RV trip- Moonlight RV Park

RV camping for the first time!  We camped at moonlight RV park in Newport.  Our campsite was about 1 mile from the Cub Scout Trail Blazer day camp.  We got there Friday after Jason was off work, set up, played games, Connor drew pictures, I cooked some chicken fajitas for dinner and we all laid on the hide-a-bed and watched a movie together.  Saturday we spent the day at the trail blazer camp, came back to our campsite, did a little exploring/hiking, I made Malibu chicken for dinner, we played games and all watched a movie together again.  Sunday after I made everyone a nice warm breakfast we packed up and went home.  Our first time RV camping was a success!  We loved it!  The RV stays really warm and cozy.  It rained off and on all weekend, so we mainly had to stay inside the RV.  We are so happy we decided to buy an RV with a slide out, it gives us a LOT more room.
