I made Connor a frozen lemon pie for his birthday. It's his favorite. Connor's friend Gerald came over for the day. They swam, talked and then we went tubing. This was Gerald's first time tubing and he loved it. Back home Kaiden rode his electric motorcycle and played with Colton and Dawson. That night we had a fire and made smores.
I've been asking Connor what he wants to do for his birthday party for months. This is his sweet 16, but he really doesn't want to do anything special. So, we took him out to a family dinner. He loves sea food, so we went to Red Lobster for some shrimp, lobster and crab. The staff sang Happy Birthday to him and he got some ice cream. We planned on getting him a Key Lime pie (he loves lemon/lime things) but they were out. We did get a brownie/ice cream cup for all of us to share, but it was really rich so Kaiden ended up eating most of it.
This was our 3rd or 4th camp trip to Hawk Creek. Sometimes the water level is really low and the bank is muddy, but this year the water level was really high. This was our favorite trip to Hawk Creek! Kaiden brought his friend Alex. Connor's friend Mason was suppose to come too, but his driver's Ed class just started. Our friend Kevin camped with us again. We went boating, tubing, Jason tried wakeboarding, lots of kayaking, board games, lego's, reading and Kaiden and Alex made a new friend- Simon. We had a fun and relaxing time! One of the days Jason took the 3 boys out tubing, but Kevin and I decided to stay behind and instead we kayaked for hours.
We babysat Harry and Benji for the week while my parents went back to Arizona. Benji is a scaredy cat. He spooks very easily and doesn't warm up to people easily. But he loves Connor! The two of them had a great week cuddling. Piper was very jealous. Connor is very much Piper's boy. Kaiden has been in the pool pretty much all week. I think the pool has become the neighborhood hang out. At one point we had 7 boys in the pool: Kaiden, Alex, Colton, Dawson, Landry, Isaiah and Tristan. Since the weather is finally warm enough we have been bringing Drako, Kaiden's bearded dragon outside every day too. We put him down in the backyard and after a few minutes he usually runs over to the lilac bush, climbs up on a branch and hangs out for hours. He loves it! We try to give him 6-8+ hours outside before brining him back inside.
Connor went camping with his friend, Mason for the week. They had a blast swimming, boating, bowling, playing at Triple Play. Kaiden helped Jason and I make a trophy shelf for his room. Kaiden and Alex played in the pool. Later Jason put Piper in the pool. She loves water and loves to swim, but she didn't like the idea that she can't get herself in and out of our pool on her own. I think it made her feel nervous.
