Sugar Cookies

Since it was once again raining... and we couldn't go outside to ride Connor's bike... We decided to make some sugar cookies to take to Lauren.

Dentist

Connor had his 3rd dentist appointment, 2nd cleaning.  He did excellent again. 

 Connor loves to ride his big bike.  He asks to ride it every day now.  Which it's been raining almost every day, so we have to wait for a break in the clouds and then run out and ride as much as we can until it starts raining or the wind starts up again.

Mobius

Our Mobius membership ran out, but since Connor loves to play there we decided to renew for another year.

 Surprise!  We ran into Connor's best friend from pre-school, Amira at Mobius.

 After Mobius, we met Lauren for lunch at the Olive Garden.

Then we got to check out Lauren's new place with her friend Nicole.  Lauren also gave Connor an early Easter basket with some fun goodies. What a great day!

Spring Break!

First day of Spring Break!  We spent the morning outside playing in the snow, which is good because by that afternoon all the snow had melted.

 First thing on Connor's agenda: riding his big bike.  He's finally tall enough to reach the petals and he's fast!  Super fast!  I had to jog to keep up with him.

 He was excited to run and play in the snow without his big bulky snow suite on too.

 He insisted on making a snowman for the front yard.  He actually did most of the work himself too!

Snowman Snow!

We finally received some snowman snow!  And in perfect timing too.  My last final for Winter quarter was Thursday and we woke up to new snow that morning.  I finished my final and picked Connor up from school so we could head home and get down to business building our snowman.  Connor's been wanting to build one all winter, but we haven't received hardly any snow this winter.  The few times it has snowed it was a dry powder.

 We decided to build our snowman in the backyard.   We started off with two great big snow balls, but I didn't realize just how heavy the snow balls were until I attempted to lift one onto the other.  So, we had to smash one of the snow balls and just pack pieces of it onto the other ball.  Connor was a huge help.  He did such a great job helping me roll the snow ball and pack the snow.

 All this running around wears a kid out.  He had to take a "snow cone" snack break.

 "Just like Ratatouille, Mom"  He loves the Ratatouille movie.  It's about a mouse that loves to cook and combine flavors, which is what Connor said he was doing by combining two snow balls.

Somehow he managed to convince Nala that snowballs are a tasty snack.

Well, Winter quarter is over.  And like every quarter I started off excited to learn new material.  Followed by counting down the days until the end of the quarter so I could have a break from studying.  And I ended the quarter sad to see it come to an end. 
Lauren moved out the end of February.   She lived with us for just over a year.  She moved in with her best friend.
Jason entered a racquetball tournament and got to compete with the pro's.
He also did quiet a bit of traveling for work: January he spent 1 week in North Carolina, February he spent 1 week in Mississippi and 1 week in South Carolina, and March he spent 1 week in South Carolina.
Connor's best friends at pre-school are still Mya and Amira.  He also likes to play with Cooper, Michael and Andrew.  He makes us laugh so much lately.  He says the funniest things.  "Sorry, Dude" "Are you kidding me?" "Jeepers Creepers"  He's really getting into science too.  He's always asking why and how questions.  He asked why snow melts and I explained how temperatures effect water.  When Jason got home he was excited to explain it to him.  He understands boiling, freezing, how water changes from a solid to a liquid and back to a solid again.  I'm amazed at how quickly he learns things too.
He's also taken an interest in navigation.  He started off by asking me which direction our house was and which direction school was while we were driving.  I pointed in the directions and then explained that every time our car turned the direction would change for our house.  He turned it into a game.  Now when we drive to school he says "our house is on the left" and when I turn the corner, "our house is on the right now"  I'm amazed at how accurate he is too!
He's 39 1/2 inches tall and 30 pounds.  I can't believe how big he is.  Geez, by the first grade he's going to be taller than me... okay maybe second grade.  =)
