Connor and I dropped off my 4-runner at the dealer for an oil change and started our spectacular day together. The dealer gave us a shuttle ride to Riverfront park, where we watched the ducks
fed the garbage eating goat
fed a fish cracker to a friendly squirrel
played at the playground
I just love this cute little tushy!
We had the park to ourselves! Connor asked me to play follow the leader, so of course I did. We ran all over the playground laughing and playing together. And then I noticed a jogger had stopped and was watching us play together. I probably turned about 10 shades of red when I realized we were being watched and someone witnessed me crawling over the bridge and through the tubes. The guy flashed me a big smile and the look on his face said "how sweet, your a super cool mom." Then he continued on his jog and I continued on playing with Connor.
Then we checked out the rapids on the Spokane river
We took a stroll down the street to check out Aunties Book Store. Connor immediately found some spider books, which he sat down in the reading nook to look at. He picked out his favorite and we continued on our journey...
to Sweet Frostings Blissful Bake Shop for a gourmet cupcake. Connor browsed the counter for the perfect cupcake. The guy behind the counter tried to talk him into a chocolate cupcake with cookie dough center and creamy almond frosting, but Connor chose a decadent chocolate cupcake with rich chocolate frosting with white sprinkles and a blue heart.
After his delicious treat we walked back to the dealer to collect my car. He had to check out his new spider book again as soon as he was seated. We started driving home when I got a text message from Jason asking if we wanted to join him for lunch. Yes, of course! I took the first exit and headed his way.
Connor was so excited to show dad his new spider book.. and to tease him about the amazing cupcake he had. After our yummy lunch with dad we stopped to get my tires rotated, fill up on gas and shop at one store before heading home from our very long, but very spectacular day together.
When Jason got home he mowed the grass for the first time this season and filled up 3 large garbage cans and 2 bins. Connor wanted to go to the recycle center with him. I said he could go as long as Jason installed our extra car seat. Connor was so excited to ride in dad's truck he was jumping up and down. He's never been in Jason's truck before, but the recycle center is literally like 2 minutes from our house.
