Founders Day

Alex spent the night Friday night and went to Founders day with us Saturday.  We watched the  hour long parade.  The boys gathered candy.  We saw Connor's girlfriend, Rachel playing her sax in the parade.  Her mom, Elizabeth visited with us and we got to love on their dog, Piccolo (who is HUGE!  He's 2 years old and somewhere around 120 pounds).  We also saw Colton's baseball team marching in the parade.  Kaiden and Alex had fun on the Ninja Warrior course.  It was chilly and windy so after a few hours we went back home.  For Father's day on Sunday we all played Pickleball on the new driveway.  It's fine to walk on but we still can't drive on it yet.  Then we set up our new pool in the backyard.  Kaiden is very excited for the water to warm up so he can jump in.  Then we played our favorite board game- Plunder.  It's a pirate ship game.  Afterwards we were all in the mood to watch Pirates of the Caribbean. We had a very fun family day together!

Third Eye Blind conert

Jason and I went to the Third Eye Blind concert at Northern Quest.  Yellow Card opened for them and Jason really didn't want to listen to their music so we intentionally arrived 1 hour late hoping to miss Yellow Card.  That's when we found out they had the band Arizona open then Yellow Card and then Third Eye Blind.  So we missed Arizona but arrived right before Yellow Card played.  Ugh.  Third Eye Blind did a great job though.  We saw them 24 years ago together too... it was our first concert together.

Concrete

Last year we had a new patio poured which spans the length of our house.  This year we had a concrete pad poured on the side yard next to the garage and also tore up the old driveway to repave it because the original pad that was laid 18 years ago was cracking and pitting.  We were told that some contractors would mix in ash to save money and that's what causes the cracking and pitting.  A bunch of our neighbors have the same issue.  Jason also talked our cable company into burring their box which sits at the end of our driveway in front of the double gate into our backyard.  Of course they charged us to burry it, but Jason was thrilled to have it out of his way when he's backing up the boat now!  We also found out when they attached the brick accents to the front of the garage 18 years ago they did it wrong. The brick was only cemented vertically but not horizontally, so when they removed the concrete under the brick it all cracked and fell.  Which means we now have another new project to add to the list...

Indian's baseball game

We took Mason, Connor, Kaiden and Colton to an Indian's baseball game.  They all loved it.  Mason and Connor walked around part of the time.  Mason is such a goofball.  I took Kaiden and Colton over to the kid center for the batting cage and bounce slides.  They also got their pictures with Otto and Doris, the mascots. Everyone got a treat- the younger kids wanted ice cream, Connor got a frozen lemonade treat, Mason got sour patch kids, everyone had popcorn... great game with fireworks afterwards too.

June fun

I took Mason and Connor to see the new Planet of the Apes movie. Kaiden had his choir concert for parents- they sang different songs than the previous concert.  Kaiden wore his suit and was in the very center of the front row.  Unfortunately it was hard to see him because his music teacher Mr. Davis was right in front of him.  Jason and I celebrated our 20 year anniversary!  Neither of us normally buy flowers, but oddly enough we both bought each other flowers as a surprise.  I also found some chocolates which we all shared.
