Our first camping trip outside the backyard since Kaiden was born.. and I think only the second time since Connor was born. We went to Fort Spokane, which is located on Lake Roosevelt- a 130 mile lake of the Columbia River created by the Grand Coulee Dam. Pipers first time camping and boating. She did amazing! She loves the boat. She instantly designated the foot cubby space on the passenger side as her spot, which Kaiden and I always sit in that spot so she's right by us. Connor always sits behind us and Jason of course is in the driver seat. She curls up next to the towels and just chills out. We took the boat to our favorite little cove on the lake and explored the beach. Piper also explored with us. Unfortunately this year the yellow jackets/hornets are really bad. But they stay a few feet off the beach and didn't bother us. We were all enjoying the water, which felt great since it's so warm. Piper was checking out the beach area, but decided on her own to get in the water and swam for the boat. We had talked about getting her a life jacket, but I guess she doesn't need one now. She's a great swimmer! Jason put her back on shore and she again swam for the boat which was anchored out in the water. So, this time he put her on the boat and she instantly went to her little cubby spot, which is shaded and cooler and took a nap. After a while Kaiden decided to join Piper on the boat and took a nap too. Connor looks pretty wore out and ready for a nap too. We went back to camp to eat and relax.
