Multnomah Falls is a waterfall located in the Columbia River Gorge. Spanning two tiers on basalt cliffs, it is the tallest waterfall in the state of Oregon at 620 ft in height. A paved foot trail leads to Benson Footbridge, a 45-foot -long footbridge that allows visitors to cross 105 feet above the lower cascade. After a viewpoint of the upper falls, the trail continues to ascend to an elevation of 785 feet, it consists of eleven switchbacks which reach a forested talus slope 100 feet above the falls. The trail then descends to an observation deck (elevation 660 feet) overlooking the falls' edge.
We hiked the 1 mile to the top with Piper. Connor was coughing half the way. The last couple weeks he's had trouble with allergies and he's been coughing frequently. He's never had allergies before, but the pollen has been really bad this year. Kaiden rode on Jason's shoulders for half the hike. He's quiet the little trooper, but his little legs do get tired.
