The Grand Canyon National Park is located in northern Arizona and encompasses 277 miles of the Colorado River and adjacent uplands. One of the most spectacular examples of erosion anywhere in the world. South Rim is the easiest to get to and most developed of the three rim areas, with an elevations average 7000 feet above sea level.
We used the Park Shuttle system to see the main attractions: Yavapai Point and geology museum, Mather Point, Visitor center, South Kaibab trailhead, and Yaki Point.
Sue rode with us to the Grand Canyon and laid in the back bedroom with the boys while we drove. They watched a movie, as the boys typically do while we're traveling and all fell asleep. Jon had to take a test, so he met us up there. After we waited for a while for Jon (who had stopped at a casino along the way), Sue decided to stay at the RV and wait for Jon while we went up to check out the Grand Canyon. Jason really wanted to see the sunset at Yaki Point, but just barely missed it.
