Rock Star

Happy Easter Everyone!

In keeping with our silly family tradition.. C got his Easter gift early. Instead of a basket full of candy we went to the toy store and let him pick out any toy he wanted. He found a bright yellow ball that he carried all over the store, until he found this...
My little rock star has his first guitar! No more using the broom to rock out.
I think we might have the beginnings of a new boy band! My friend Lisa's boys- Sky (7) and Brady (5) both play the guitar and drums. Their dad, Shane Zaborac plays the guitar in the band Prior Sin.
My friend Tina's boys- Jakob (8) and Zach (10) both play the guitar and sing.
I'm surrounded by Rock Stars!

Busy Day!

We had a B-U-S-Y day today!

Let's see we started the day off with a trip to the hair dresser... I got my hair cut short! J and C took a stroll to Babies R Us while I was getting my hair done.

Then we took the doggies to get their yearly check up and shots, which of course meant we had to stop by a park afterward.
And

then

we

got

this

J's new ride!

So, after C went to bed I was looking around the house for J...
that's odd I can't find him anywhere?!?

You know where I finally found him?
In the garage talking to his new car!

It's all voice controlled.
And he doesn't think he's spoiled? Hmmm... I beg to differ!

We also squeezed in a dance party today too.

My little Rock Star!

J taught him how to use the broom as his guitar/microphone =)

Spring Break

Yippy! It's Spring break!

This last winter I decided to go back to school. After 11 years of recordkeeping and accounting I'm ready for a change. So, I'm back in school to get a nursing degree. The medical field has interested me for a while now. It's a completely different career from what I'm used to. I'm excited to work with people again and get out from behind a desk all day.

Well, I still have a long ways to go before I actually get to be a nurse. I took Biology 160 this winter, which I was little bit nervous about. I've heard how difficult this class is and to be honest I avoided all the lab sciences the 1st time I got my degree (13 years ago) so it's a little bit intimidating.

I had my final Monday night and.... wooo hoooo! I got 100% on my final. I passed the class with a 3.9. I'm a little bit irritated though... I missed 13 points during the quarter and missed getting a 4.0 by 4 stinken points. Love the teacher, but that's a really strict grading system!! You can only miss 9 points all quarter to get a 4.0. Dang it! Sooo close. Oh well. I'm happy I survived and made it out with a good grade. Now it's onto the next class... A+P and Psych. Wish me luck... I'll need it! So far I've yet to find anyone who's passed A+P the first time. Scary!

When I got home from taking my final last night my boys surprised me with some cookies they made! Thanks guys! Your the best.
All we need is a skate board and we're ready for the soap box derby races! Or would it be the diaper box derby races? LOL

Beachy Saturday

What a gorgeous day outside! The sun is shining, the birds are chirping... I love my Vitamin D!

I made my boys a big omelette breakfast. The best omelette ever.. even if I do say so myself. Then after we filled our bellies we headed off to Water Front Park.

The local Fire Department was there doing some training on the trucks. C was pretty fascinated with their big red trucks and all the Firemen waved. And then...
they brought him over these adorable stuffed animals.
How sweet! Thank you Firemen =)
After a few pushes on the swing (can't walk past a park without stopping at the swings!) then we hit the paved trail around the lake.
It was still a little bit nippy out when we started our walk, but it warmed up pretty quick.
Didn't take long and C was off running. Notice his leash? We left the dogs at home and C insisted on carrying the "leash" anyway. It's actually the strap off the jogging stroller.. just don't tell him.
There's nothing better after a nice long walk than playing in the sand.

In every boys life there must be a little dirt.
He really enjoyed playing in the sand. I'm sure he would have been content to spend the entire day digging on the beach.

He's going to love his little sand Turtle this summer!
The one J didn't think I needed to buy... the same one I used for a baby swim pool last summer and used as his ball pit over the winter. Hmm... seems like a good investment to me! We've already got 1 full year of fun out of it.

So, neener neener dad! =)
And then it was time to go home for his favorite snack- Cheese and Strawberries and take a nap, while dad goes to test drive a Camry.

What a great day! Sun, laughter and the best family in the world... life doesn't get any better than this! I'm pretty sure I'm living in paradise right here. =)

Big Potty!

(warning this might be gross if you don't have kids... but it's very exciting for us! We're one step closer to no more diapers!)

My little angel surprised me this morning with a #2 in his potty! Wooo hooo! I bought him a potty a while ago, but we really didn't spend any time on potty training because I thought he was too young to really get the concept. When Marcie was visiting I found out Landen was potty trained by 2 years old. Wow! So... a few days ago I actually started trying to get him more used to the potty... and it must be working!

So, of course I called daddy to tell him about our exciting news. We talked about finding something to give him as a reward system. Hmm....

I ran a bunch of errands today and stopped at the store to get him some tub toys, which I knew he would love. Tub crayons! And I also picked up some M&M's, which he's never tried before but I've heard they make a great reward for going potty.

Daddy came home with a tub toy and some M&M's too! It's almost scary how similar we think sometimes. =)

Anyway here's some fantastic tub art

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! C's so green he's even decided to use the green broom to sweep today.

Watch out for those little Leprechaun's... their tricky little guys.

One Man Cleaning Crew

My amazing One Man Cleaning Crew!
He now has a new talent to add to his resume... professional duster!
He sweeps, he dusts, he picks up toys, he's an assistant cook, he walks the dogs and he gives the most incredible bear hugs. Honestly I don't think there is a more perfect man! I'm so lucky he's all mine... well for the next 18 years anyway. =)
