Splash Down Water Park

We bought a family season pass to the Splash Down Water Park this summer, which comes with 5 season passes.  Since there are only 3 of us we were told we could give the other two passes to anyone we wanted.  So, we gave Olesya and her girls our extra two season passes.

After Olesya went down the big slides once with both girls they decided they were brave enough to go down alone.  The girls had a blast and spent hours on these slides.

 3 hours in and Connor still won't go down any slides.  We watched the girls go down the slides and he played in the pools in the kiddie area, but refused to go down any slides.  The water was still a bit chilly (not nearly as cold as it was the first time we came a few weeks ago), but it felt so refreshing with the 95 degree heat.  We bought this mini beach ball from the gift shop to play with in the pools and shortly after this picture was taken the beach ball slipped down one of the slides... which meant we either had to follow the ball down the slide or loose it to some kid at the bottom.  Connor was having fun with the beach ball and didn't want to loose it... so he reluctantly decided to follow the ball down the slide on my lap.  And what do you know he enjoyed it.  OMG only took me 3 hours and almost loosing his beach ball to convince him to give it a try.  He still refused to try the big slides, but he did go down several of the small slides in the kids area with me or Olesya.  He didn't want to go down on his own.

Olesya and her girls played from 1:00-5:30.  Jason was so excited to meet us at the water park and drove there right from work.  He got there just as Olesya was leaving.  Connor went down one kiddie slide with Jason and declared he was tired and wanted to go home.  Jason was so disappointed, but 4 1/2 hour in the sun is a long time for a kid!  We'll have to plan another week day trip to the water park to avoid all the crowds and lines... and this time we'll go later in the day so Jason can join us after work.

After a long day at the water park it's time to get busy and make Connor's thank you cards for his birthday party.  You can't really tell from the picture, but the two circle for the spiders body are both 3D.  I used scrap booking dots to make them stand off the page.  The purple "Thanks" and web are done with glitter.  And of course the spider has google eyes.  Each card had a personalized thank you note on the back and Connor signed his name to each and every one.
