We left for Kelso to spend Christmas with Jason's family on 12-23. Since this was the first real road trip with Kaiden we decided to book a hotel and break the 7 hour trip into 2 days. We left our house around his nap time and he slept great for the first 2 hours. When he woke up he screamed for 30 minutes, this was followed by me sitting in the back seat between both the kids car seats and entertaining Kaiden for the next 1 1/2 hours until we reached our hotel. At this point we were very thankful that we booked the hotel in advance. We stayed the night in a new Marriott hotel. We set up our room, ate some dinner and went down to the pool for some swimming. Jason and Connor swam for quiet a while. The water was warm, but not warm enough for Kaiden's liking.. he's not fond of any water under 95 degrees. We relaxed that evening and laid in bed watching movies. The next morning we had some breakfast and while we got ready and packed things up Connor decided to join Kaiden in the playpen and keep him company.
Kaiden did great and slept for the majority of our drive to Jason's sisters house. When he did wake up I gave him a tic tac container, which he played with for an hour! He wasn't interested in playing with any of his toys, but that tic tac container kept him smiling and laughing for the rest of our trip.

Connor opening his gift from aunt Sue and uncle John.
Jason drove over and picked up his mom and we all had dinner at Sue's house. Afterwards we went back to Jason's mom's apartment, which is where we stayed for the entire trip.
Jason and Connor playing with his new circuit board. Connor has decided he wants to be an inventor now, so we got him several Christmas gifts with that creative theme in mind. He likes to build things... so, maybe we have another engineer in the family.
Kaiden enjoying one of his new books
Connor with 2 new stuffed animals. The big gray cat is from Grandma and the small black I bought for him to resemble his step cat, Ruby.
Happy Christmas Eve! Kaiden had already gone to bed by the time I decided to take a family shot...
