We rode our bikes into town from the campsite to the Cave and Basin National Historic Site at the site of natural thermal mineral springs, which was the first national park in Canada. They had a fun, but long activity book for the boys. Afterwards we rode our bikes to check out the Fairmont hotel, which is called the "Castle in the Rockies." From there we went back into Banff and bought some more souveniers. 6 shirts, hat, magnet, Jason's "Canadian Maple syrup" and Connor found a sign with Rachel's name on it for her. Then Jason took off for a mountain bike ride on trails. The boys and I checked out 2 candy stores. Kaiden found a ring sucker. Connor found a Harry Potter chocolate frog (with card). I got a salted chocolate truffle. Then we loaded the bikes on the shuttle bus and rode it back to the campground. The ride into town was mainly down hill and pretty steep... Kaiden's bike doesn't have any gears and I don't think he would be able to ride it back up the hill. Besides both boys were tired and not up to trying to ride back.
