We left the campsite and went to Johnston Canyon for a 3.3 mile hike up and back with 862 feet elevation. We almost skipped this hike since we couldn't find any spots in the parking lot, but we found a pull off spot just down the road. There are narrow bridges, waterfalls and beautiful mountain views everywhere. The hike started off sunny and a warm 70 degrees. We passed the lower falls and were almost to the top of the upper falls when it started to rain. We thought we could wait it out since the rain usually only lasts for 20 minutes, but it turned into a down pour with hail. We hid out under trees for a while, along with all the other hikers. But finally had to make a run for it down the trail back to the RV. We were soaking wet, muddy and cold. Luckily Jason installed an outdoor shower in our RV and we were able to wash our legs and Piper off, dry off with towels, get some clean dry clothes on and turned the heater on in the RV to warm up. From here we started driving towards the border. Along the way we got stopped by a herd of sheep crossing the road in Radium Hot Springs. So, we decided to stop and check out their thermal hot springs. The natural Spring water is changed out every 24 hours and is naturally heated to 102 degrees. They also have a cold plunge which is cooled to 39 degrees. Kaiden loved to jump in the cold plunge and then back in the hot springs. We all actually did it a few times, but Kaiden and I did it the most. We crossed the border over to the USA at 9:30pm. We had planned on staying at a campsite, but Jason decided to drive home instead. We got home just after midnight.
