Kaiden

Reggie is 8 weeks old and weighs 12+ pounds.  Kaiden is 11 weeks old and weighs 12 pounds.

A little about my Kaiden...  He is such a mellow, easy baby.  He's very alert and loves to look around.  He definitely knows I'm mom and watches my every move.  He usually only cries when he's hungry, has a gas bubble or he's tired.  We think he has/had acid reflux because he hated to lay flat on his back and would make grunting noises if you laid him flat.  He doesn't have any issues as long as he sleeps on a wedge on his stomach or sides though.  We discovered around 2 months that he has gas issues that make him uncomfortable.  His nickname is Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy (formally Connor's nickname) because he is a gassy kid who toots quiet often.  We found that moving his legs in a bicycle motion breaks up the gas bubbles in his intestines and helps him to pass the gas without discomfort.  A few times we've had to give him Gripe water (all natural herbs that relieve gas).  Regardless, if he's crying for any reason and I pick him up he usually stops crying.  He only does this for me though and not Jason or anyone else.  Sometimes I just have to walk into view and he calms down.  He loves to be carried facing outward so he can look around.  He also loves to be gently bounced up and down while holding him outward.  He's ticklish and doesn't like his back to be rubbed, but loves to have his back patted.  He drools.  He loves his pacifier.  He uses it to sooth himself to sleep and if he doesn't have his pacifier he will suck on his hand, fingers or thumb.  He loves to watch Connor.  On July 5th he stopped having 6+ bowel movements a day (which is normal when their intestines become more efficient around 3 months) and now has a movement once every few days.  His gas is now stinky too.  He started sleeping from 10pm-2am around a month old and then would be up every 2 hours after that for a feeding.  He's really easy though.  The minute I hear him start to stir I pick him up and take him into his bedroom to change his diaper, breast feed him and rock in the chair before putting him back to sleep in the bassinet in our room.  Once his belly is full he falls right back to sleep and I'm back in bed within 25 minutes.  He sleeps every time I take him out in public... restaurants, Connor's school, etc.  If he does start to wake up all it takes is rocking him in his car seat or stroking his cheek and he falls back to sleep.  His legs are really strong.  Since the day he was born he's loved to stand and push off with his legs.  He has no birth marks, but some red stork bites on the back of his neck and a small stork bite on the right side of his nose.  His eyes have changed from a bright blue to more of a grey-blue-green color.  He's no longer conservative with his grins.  He smiles all the time now.  Kaiden laughs when Jason rubs his feet against Jason's whiskers.  He also smiles and laughs when I kiss the bottom of his feet.  His feet are ticklish like Connor's.
My 3 boys snuggling in bed.  Kaiden is keeping an eye on mom though.

the blanket on Jason's lap is the first blanket I've made just for Kaiden.  When we went to the fabric store Connor picked out his neon green zebra fabric for a lap blanket in the car and I picked out this extremely soft fabric for Kaiden's blanket.  The whales kinda match with the boat theme in his room and teal is my favorite color.
